Construction Lead (HVAC HU)
Location: Offshore, Qatar
Employment Type: 36-Month Contract, Rotational (28 days on / 28 days off)
Working Hours: 12 hours/day, 7 days/week

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Lead (HVAC) to provide oversight and direction for hook-up and commissioning activities on large-scale offshore EPC projects. This role involves coordination with EPC contractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary project teams to ensure HVAC systems are delivered, installed, and commissioned according to project requirements and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide HUC (Hook-Up and Commissioning) leadership for HVAC systems, including field instrumentation support
• Review critical documents and reports from contractors and attend workshops or review meetings
• Analyse technical proposals, deviations, and exceptions to ensure compliance with project standards
• Support supplier qualification for non-approved vendors and evaluate contractor manpower loading
• Ensure engineering teams meet schedule milestones for long lead items, engineered equipment, and on-site readiness
• Witness contractor scope of work, sign off test and check sheets, and verify progress reporting accuracy
• Participate in quality audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented
• Apply lessons learned from previous projects and share best practices across teams
• Support safety, health, environmental, and quality compliance throughout the project lifecycle

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Applied Sciences, Engineering, or related discipline
• Minimum 8 years’ experience on large-scale construction projects in the Oil & Gas industry, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or oversight role
• Strong expertise in HVAC commissioning, testing and balancing (TAB), performance testing of fans and air handling units, and refrigeration system commissioning
• Experience with room integrity testing and knowledge of Fluorinated Gas (F-gas) regulations
• Familiarity with AHI Carrier & Wozair equipment
• Knowledge of offshore and onshore construction, fabrication, installation, brownfield execution, and hook-up processes
• Strong organizational, leadership, coordination, planning, and interface skills
• Ability to adapt to tight deadlines and changing priorities, with proactive problem-solving and contingency planning
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, fluent in English
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and general project software tools
• Willingness to travel as required for the role
