We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Maintenance team in Blackwood, operating on a three-shift scheme. About the Role:
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and continuous improvement of electrical systems and production machinery across the site. The role involves both preventative and reactive maintenance, equipment upgrades, installation support, and ensuring compliance with company safety standards and procedures.
This position requires strong collaboration with production teams, engineering colleagues, and external contractors to maintain efficient site operations and minimise downtime.

- Salary: Up to £38,571.39 per annum (DOE)
- Hours: 37.5 per week
- Shifts: Early (6am-2pm), Days (8:30am-4:30pm), Afternoons (2pm-10pm)
- Pattern: Three-week rotating shift pattern, EAD
- Location: Blackwood

About the Role:
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and continuous improvement of electrical systems and production machinery across the site. The role involves both preventative and reactive maintenance, equipment upgrades, installation support, and ensuring compliance with company safety standards and procedures.
This position requires strong collaboration with production teams, engineering colleagues, and external contractors to maintain efficient site operations and minimise downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct planned preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical breakdowns promptly
- Carry out safety checks, inspections, and ensure safe working practices
- Improve plant performance through equipment upgrades and modifications
- Maintain and repair electrical supply equipment
- Keep accurate and up-to-date maintenance records
- Assist in the procurement and management of engineering stock
- Support installation and removal of equipment as required
- Work effectively across shifts and with internal and external stakeholders
Essential Criteria:
- ONC in Electrical Engineering
- NVQ Level 3
- Time-served electrical apprenticeship
- Strong engineering background with industrial electrical experience
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams
- Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable Criteria:
- 18th Edition qualification
- PLC experience
- Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics
- Experience with injection moulding machinery
- Automation experience

- Self-motivated, energetic, and proactive
- Positive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to change
- Strong organisational and planning abilities
- Flexible to work additional hours when required
