Electrical Engineering - AI Data Trainer

About the Role

We're looking for electrical engineers to help train and improve the world's most advanced AI models. Your domain expertise will directly shape how AI reasons through complex engineering problems - from circuit analysis to power systems to signal processing.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. You set your own schedule and work as much or as little as fits your life.
  • Organization
    : Alignerr
  • Type
    : Hourly Contract
  • Location
    : Remote
  • Commitment
    : 10-40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Design Challenging Problems
    - Create advanced electrical engineering problems across domains like circuit analysis, power systems, signal processing, control systems, and electromagnetics to rigorously test AI performance
  • Author Gold-Standard Solutions
    - Write precise, step-by-step technical solutions that serve as benchmarks for AI learning and evaluation
  • Audit AI Outputs
    - Review AI-generated code, circuit diagrams, and mathematical proofs for technical accuracy, safety, and compliance with engineering standards (IEEE, NEC, etc.)
  • Improve AI Reasoning
    - Identify logical errors and gaps in AI-generated engineering responses, then provide structured feedback to strengthen model reasoning

Who You Are

  • Holds or is pursuing a Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related field
  • Strong foundational knowledge in one or more core domains - VLSI, control systems, telecommunications, power electronics, embedded systems, or similar
  • Able to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely in writing
  • Detail-oriented with high precision when working with equations, circuit logic, and technical documentation
  • No prior AI or data annotation experience required

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data annotation, data quality review, or AI evaluation workflows
  • Familiarity with simulation tools (SPICE, MATLAB, etc.)
  • Background in robotics, signal processing, or engineering simulations

Why Join Us

  • Work at the frontier of AI development alongside world-leading research teams
  • Fully remote and asynchronous - work on your own schedule, from anywhere
  • Freelance flexibility: choose your hours and scale your commitment up or down
  • Gain rare, hands-on exposure to how cutting-edge large language models are built and trained
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
