About Demcon

The ME&ID department within Demcon's medical product development division in Enschede consists of around twenty motivated engineers who have developed from their technical backgrounds into versatile professionals.

Our mechanical engineers and industrial designers work on a wide variety of projects, such as https://lifescienceshealth.demcon.com/ . The engineers not only design, but also work out the details, including the test setups in our own engineering lab and finally the initial assembly of the design. As an engineer, you actually see the designed system come to life!

What are you going to do?

As a group leader, you are the face of the department and a connecting force within the company. You inspire and motivate your team by paying attention to the person behind the engineer and to the joint result. With your entrepreneurial attitude and coaching leadership, you take the department to a higher level. You encourage the development of colleagues, monitor the quality and efficiency of the work, and ensure that everyone contributes to our projects with pleasure and pride. In our dynamic project environment, you work closely with business unit managers, project managers, and group leaders from other departments and branches-together you build a strong, committed, and successful organization.

Your role consists of three key components:

• Developing colleagues within the departmentYou will encourage growth by matching employees to suitable projects and coaching and guiding them. You will ensure that the team has the right skills to move forward together.
• Improving working methods and creating a pleasant working environmentYou work on strategic developments that meet the needs of today's and tomorrow's market. In this way, you contribute to quality and efficiency and ensure that everyone has the right facilities to work effectively.
• Performing operational tasksAn important part of this is assigning colleagues to projects and monitoring their contribution, so that the team can achieve optimal results.

What do you bring to the table?

• A completed (technical) university degree, preferably in mechanical engineering.
• Experience with (technical) management of teams in an R&D environment is an advantage. However, we are also open to talented young engineers who want to develop into managers.
• Affinity with medical product development.
• Experience with developing systems from concept to realization.
• Good communication skills at all levels: within the team, with customers, and internally.
• You are a connector who builds bridges between people, departments, and projects.
• A facilitating leadership style with an eye for both people and results.
• Excellent command of Dutch and English, both verbally and in writing.
