We are now looking for a new Mechanical Design Engineer in Tognana, Italy!
We are seeking a proactive Mechanical Design Engineer with strong experience in Engineering-to-Manufacturing (E2M) processes. This role is key to ensuring a seamless transition from design to production, with a strong emphasis on manufacturability, cost optimization, and product scalability. The ideal candidate combines solid design expertise with hands-on manufacturing awareness and thrives in cross-functional environments.

We are now looking for a new Mechanical Design Engineer in Tognana, Italy!
We are seeking a proactive Mechanical Design Engineer with strong experience in Engineering-to-Manufacturing (E2M) processes. This role is key to ensuring a seamless transition from design to production, with a strong emphasis on manufacturability, cost optimization, and product scalability. The ideal candidate combines solid design expertise with hands-on manufacturing awareness and thrives in cross-functional environments.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using PTC Creo
- Apply DFM/DFA principles to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturing and assembly
- Drive the E2M process, supporting product transition from concept to serial production
- Produce and maintain 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation
- Collaborate with manufacturing, industrialization, quality, and supply chain teams
- Support prototyping, validation builds, and production ramp-up phases
- Work closely with suppliers to validate design feasibility and manufacturing processes
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, design simplification, and performance improvement
- Manage engineering changes through CR (Change Request) and CO (Change Order) processes, ensuring proper review, approval, and implementation
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with technical standards, specifications, and safety requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field
- 3-7+ years of experience in mechanical design with E2M or industrialization exposure
- Strong proficiency in PTC Creo (preferred CAD system)
- Solid understanding of DFM/DFA methodologies
- Experience with PLM systems and BOM management
- Good knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, casting, sheet metal, plastics, etc.)
- Experience supporting production ramp-up and manufacturing validation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on mindset
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in complex or high-volume manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement tools
- Experience working with global suppliers and contract manufacturers.
Work Environment:
- Combination of office-based design work and on-site manufacturing support
- Close collaboration with production teams and external partners
- Occasional travel to manufacturing sites as needed
