Rawafid is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to lead and contribute to complex electrical engineering projects. In this senior role, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of electrical systems across various projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements. You will provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions. Your expertise will be instrumental in optimizing system performance, improving safety protocols, and driving innovation within our engineering department.
Key Responsibilities

• Perform power system studies and analysis including load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash, motor starting, and harmonic analysis using ETAP or SKM
• Develop HV/MV/LV single line diagrams (SLDs) and electrical system schematics
• Specify and support selection of VFDs for large motor applications (>1MW, high HP pump systems)
• Prepare transformer sizing, specifications, and technical evaluations
• Perform cable sizing, routing studies, and cable schedule preparation
• Carry out protection relay selection and develop setting calculations
• Design grounding and lightning protection systems in accordance with IEEE 80 and IEC 62305
• Ensure compliance with Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) grid interconnection requirements
• Prepare specifications for MCCs, switchgear, and related electrical equipment
• Design emergency power systems, including diesel generators and UPS systems
• Develop electrical equipment layouts and coordinate with other disciplines
• Support hazardous area classification studies and electrical safety requirements
• Review vendor electrical drawings and technical submittals
• Participate in HAZOP studies with a focus on electrical systems and safety review

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• 10 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, preferably in construction or industrial projects
• 5+ years of relevant experience in desalination or water/power plants, including HV (110/132kV), MV (13.8kV), and VFD systems for large motors
• Must be registered and certified with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE)
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification and proficiency in ETAP for power system analysis are preferred
• Strong knowledge of SEC Technical Connection Requirements and SWA technical standards
• Proven experience in leading and managing engineering teams and projects
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
