Job Summary
Highly experienced Instrumentation Designers with a minimum of 15+ years of relevant experience are required to support ongoing oil and gas projects. The role demands strong hands-on design expertise and proven proficiency in SP3D / E3D, AutoCAD, and MicroStation. Candidates must have prior oil and gas EPC project experience and the ability to deliver high-quality design outputs under tight timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver instrumentation design and drafting for oil and gas facilities, including:Create and manage 3D instrumentation models using SP3D / E3D
- Instrument layout drawings
- Hook-up drawings
- Instrument index and data sheets
- Junction box layouts and wiring diagrams
- Cable routing and tray layouts related to instrumentation
- Installation details and typical drawings
- Prepare, update, and maintain 2D drawings using AutoCAD and MicroStation
- Coordinate with Instrumentation Engineers and other disciplines such as Electrical, Piping, Process, and Mechanical to ensure design integration
- Ensure compliance with:Incorporate review comments from clients, licensors, and internal stakeholders
- Project specifications
- Client standards
- International codes and industry best practices
- Support design activities during FEED, detailed engineering, and EPC phases
- Meet project schedules and ensure quality deliverables within defined timelines
Qualification and Experience Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Instrumentation / Electronics Engineering (or equivalent)
- Minimum 15+ years of relevant experience as an Instrumentation Designer
- Mandatory oil and gas industry experience, preferably within EPC or consultancy environments
- Strong hands-on expertise in:Extensive experience on greenfield and brownfield projects
- SP3D / E3D
- AutoCAD
- MicroStation
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong understanding of instrumentation design standards and practices (ISA, IEC, and project-specific standards)
