ETO Process Engineer

Location: Mexico City, Mexico

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced ETO Process Engineer to support ETO (Engineer-to-Order) projects within the Oil & Gas sector. The role involves process design, simulation, engineering deliverables, and close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams from proposal through commissioning phases.

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related discipline
• Conversational English proficiency (written and verbal)

Experience

• 10+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry
• Prior experience with:
  • EPC companies or Engineering Consultancies
  • Production Facility Engineering
  • Site engineering support for Pre-commissioning and Commissioning
• Strong understanding of process engineering fundamentals and international industry standards

Technical Expertise

• Strong process engineering background
• Oil & Gas Upstream Processes
• Process simulation tools (Aspen HYSYS minimum requirement)
• Deep familiarity with international codes, standards, and good engineering practices

Key Responsibilities

The Process Engineer will be responsible for activities including, but not limited to:

• Ensure all engineering and design work meets quality, cost, and schedule objectives
• Perform Process Design Engineering, including:
  • Process simulations and design calculations
  • Equipment sizing and selection
  • Process optimization
  • Depressurization calculations and flare network studies
  • Support for tenders and awarded projects
• Prepare and review engineering deliverables such as:
  • Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
  • P&IDs
  • Process datasheets and equipment specifications
  • Heat and material balances
  • Cause & Effect diagrams
  • Control and shutdown philosophies
  • HAZOP action close-out
  • Operation & Maintenance manuals
• Review vendor and subcontractor documents, drawings, specifications, and calculations for compliance with project requirements
• Communicate effectively with the Project Lead Engineer, ensuring timely reporting and coordination
• Apply the latest international and national standards, codes of practice, and approved engineering software
• Review client specifications during the proposal phase and raise clarifications or deviations
• Provide process input to other disciplines and technical support to Operations and Site teams, including commissioning and troubleshooting support
• Travel as required to meet project and business needs
• Actively support and participate in the company HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environment) program to maintain a safe and healthy working environment
