EngineeringNES Fircroft are delighted to be partnering with a major Clean Energy solutions provider who are looking to add a Portuguese speaking Lead Project Planner to their team working from their offices in Lisbon.
The client develop, build, own and operate clean energy plants from a variety of global locations. There need for a Lead Project Planner will be a contract based role to work Monday – Friday in Lisbon offices with some site travels required to the project Egypt.
To be considered for this role, candidates must be able to speak fluent Portuguese, have existing right to work in Portugal and be happy work in Lisbon 5 days per week Monday – Friday.
It will be a contract based role for an initial 6 months duration with excellent potential to be extended for an additional 6 months minimum.

Responsibilities
Operating System
- Provide continuous input towards improvement and optimization of the Operating System
- Follow guidelines and prescribed structures as outlined by the Operating System
- Provide resource (Man-Hours) estimation
- Assist in due diligence process
- Assist in developing Milestones to be integrated in the relevant PPA (if applicable)
- Compile high level timeline for Opportunity / Development as required by Business Development
- Support Supply Chain team with quotation documents, final Purchase Orders, contract and tender evaluations
- Prepare planning related contract schedules for head EPC, all suppliers and contractors’ contract documents
- Provide resource (Man-Hours) estimation
- Compile / Prepare overall master project programme (schedule) for Delivery phase integrating the standard Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
- Establish and update the programme for Structuring phase
- Maintain and updating the high level timeline
- Compile Programme Memorandum Basis incorporating all the necessary information relevant to the Project
- Report project progress including: inputs for bi-weekly progress report, 4-weeks look ahead report
- Track, monitor and forecast progress of all structuring phase activities, communicate with the team members about activities to be performed and deadlines.
- Understand contractual matter, identify critical milestones and notifications (PPA time analysis), incorporate on the master project programme
- Support project manager with Gate Review planning and preparation
- Support engineering team with planning for engineering documents, MDL and programme alignment and preparing engineering progress report
- Support project manager with Gate Review planning and preparation and risk analysis
- Report project progress including: inputs for client monthly progress report, programme, S-Curve, internal project status reports, critical path analysis, milestones related to cash flow
- Track, monitor and forecast progress of all activities on the project, communicate with the team members about activities to be performed and deadlines. Analyze gaps between planned and actual progress; highlight areas of concern which required actions and recovery plan
- Elaborate documentation needed to support main EPC contract document; suppliers and sub-contractor EPC request for quotation documents and final Purchase Orders
- Responsible for the site project planner to ensure he/she is working in accordance to company policy and procedures and right templates
- Coordinate the analyst project planner (at site) to ensure the information gathered from the contractors are incorporated into the overall project master schedule
- Update the project schedule based on work achieved, baseline updates and reporting, as well as providing forecast to Supply Chain/Logistics/Engineering/PM on upcoming and critical activities
- Create overall schedule and baseline integrating all sub-projects
- Setting up the baseline, weighting and generating the S-Curves
- Reviewing / verifying the contractor’s baseline, Programme Basis Memorandum, Manpower and machinery histograms and S-Curve
- Liaise with Estimating and/or Cost Disciplines to ensure proper alignment between Cost/Estimate and Schedule
- Coordinate schedule from multiple contractors and incorporate the information gathered into the overall project master schedule
- Setting up the baseline, weighting by earned value method and generating the S-Curves
Provide Plannings training
- Provide planning related training to new commers (e.g. Junior-, Site-, Senior Project Planners or projects’ team members).
- Planning Department Team
- Project Team (PM/PTM/SCM/Legal/DC)
- Education: Formal Technical Qualification (Civil, Industrial or Petroleum Engineering degree, Project Management)
- Experience: 8 years of project planning and scheduling experience in an EPC organization in execution of petrochemical projects. Green Hydrogen experience is an advantage.
- Language: fluent both written and spoken in English. Portuguese and Arabic are an advantage.
- Planning Tools Specialist (Primavera, MS Projects, MS Office) including advanced and practical knowledge of Project Planning, Project Management and Document Management.
- Ability to be operational while analytical.
- Ability to lead and guide the project teams by providing relevant and on time information for decision making.
- Practical experience and know how on project constructability and sequencing including contractual interfaces.
