Industrial Hygienist Specialist
Location: Onshore (Ras Laffan / Doha HQ), Qatar
Contract Duration: 2-year initial contract (extendable)
Work Schedule: 8–10 hours per day, Sunday to Thursday | 12 weeks on / 2 weeks off (single status)

Overview
An opportunity is available for an Industrial Hygienist Specialist to support major onshore and offshore projects during startup and handover phases. This role focuses on identifying, assessing, and controlling occupational health hazards to ensure safe operations and compliance with company and regulatory standards.

You will play a key role in protecting workforce health by implementing industrial hygiene programmes across complex oil and gas project environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Industrial Hygiene Programmes for major onshore and offshore projects
• Conduct Health Risk Assessments and evaluate workforce exposure risks
• Design exposure assessment strategies and define monitoring requirements
• Plan and implement personal exposure monitoring across different work environments
• Identify, assess, and control chemical, physical, and biological workplace hazards
• Establish and evaluate engineering and administrative controls, including PPE strategies
• Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with industrial hygiene requirements
• Support medical monitoring initiatives in collaboration with occupational health teams
• Develop and deliver health protection training and awareness programmes
• Review and assess new chemicals for safe usage and exposure control measures
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and update industrial hygiene procedures
• Contribute to competency development and training for national development programmes

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Chemical/Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or Environmental Health Sciences
• Minimum 8 years of experience in industrial hygiene or occupational health and safety
• At least 5 years’ experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial environments
• Professional certification preferred (CIH, ROH, COH, CSP, CRSP, or equivalent)
• Strong knowledge of occupational exposure assessment and control methodologies
• Experience working in large-scale project startup and operational environments
• Strong analytical, planning, and organisational skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Strong proficiency in English and MS Office tools
