This role sits within ABB's Robotics business, a leading global robotics company. We're entering an exciting new chapter as we've announced the plan for SoftBank Group to acquire ABB Robotics. This Position reports to:

Your Role and Responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to grow our robotics business by expanding into the laboratory automation space. Leveraging our broad portfolio of products and cutting-edge technology, Service Robotics is focused on bringing the benefits of automation to customers in healthcare, life sciences, and laboratory environments-enhancing precision, throughput, and efficiency in research and diagnostics.
As part of the Service Robotics Operations team, you will have the opportunity to act as commissioning lead for medium-size projects. Each day, you will ensure completion of all commissioning activities efficiently and cost-effectively in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting continuous improvement of project process/product/system design.
In this role, you'll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.

You will be mainly accountable for:
- Supporting and coordinating the installation/commissioning activities and related on- site activities focused on finalizing customer acceptance certification.
- Creating work plans and cost estimates to meet contractual obligations.
- Initiating and monitoring risk mitigation plans and ensuring stakeholders are updated on associated technical risks.
- Managing external organizations to ensure the availability of commissioning equipment, systems, or services.
- Contributing to R&D projects and standardization activities to drive innovation, improve processes, and ensure consistency across solutions.
Qualifications for the Role
- We are looking for a passionate robotics and automation professional to drive innovative solutions in laboratory and life sciences environments, contributing to cutting-edge automation projects with real-world impact.
- You have hands-on experience in robotics, automation, or laboratory technologies, with a proven track record of delivering complex, multidisciplinary projects.
- Experience with PLC programming, industrial communication protocols, or machine vision systems is a strong advantage.
- You thrive in collaborative, cross-functional environments and enjoy solving complex problems while engaging with diverse stakeholders across engineering, product, and operations.
- You hold a degree in Engineering or a related technical field, with solid knowledge of robotics and automation systems.
- You have excellent command of English, enabling effective communication in an international environment.
