Context & Environment

Why TotalEnergies Renewables USA?

You'll join a global energy leader actively shaping the future of utility-scale renewables in the U.S. This role offers technical ownership, cross-functional exposure, and the opportunity to work on complex, high-impact systems that keep clean energy flowing-safely and reliably.

At TotalEnergies, SCADA isn't support-it's mission-critical.

Be the Digital Nerve Center of Clean Power

At TotalEnergies Renewables USA, our SCADA systems are the backbone that keeps utility-scale renewable assets running safely, reliably, and intelligently. We're seeking a SCADA Engineer who thrives at the intersection of operations, IT/OT, cybersecurity, and grid integration to support and evolve our growing portfolio of utility-scale power plants across North America.

In this role, you won't just support systems-you'll own SCADA operability, data flow, and integration, working hands-on with cutting-edge technologies that enable real-time control, performance optimization, and regulatory compliance.

If you enjoy solving complex technical challenges and want your work to directly support the energy transition, this is a role with real impact.

Activities

What You'll Do
SCADA Ownership & Grid Integration
  • Lead hands-on SCADA implementation, operation, and maintenance across utility-scale renewable projects.
  • Ensure SCADA systems and Power Plant Controllers (PPCs) meet grid integration and operational requirements.
  • Support interconnection compliance across markets including ERCOT, CAISO, and PJM.
OT/IT Systems & Cybersecurity
  • Ensure compliance with TotalEnergies IT, OT, and cybersecurity standards.
  • Work closely with internal IT, cybersecurity, and OT stakeholders to maintain secure, reliable infrastructure.
  • Support Active Directory usage within OT environments.
System Integration & Data Enablement
  • Implement and manage third-party integrations using APIs, SFTP, OPC-UA/DA, and other protocols.
  • Enable automated workflows, real-time monitoring, and end-to-end data streams.
  • Build and manage tools that support automated data acquisition and performance analysis.
Cross-Functional & External Collaboration
  • Partner with EPCs, SCADA integrators, OEMs, utilities, O&M contractors, and internal teams through all project phases.
  • Review vendor submittals and ensure compliance with technical standards and exhibits.
  • Act as a technical influencer-driving alignment across diverse stakeholders.
Documentation, Support & Operations
  • Own the collection, organization, and filing of SCADA and OT/IT project documentation.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for critical incident escalation.
  • Support fleet-based operations across a regional portfolio.

Candidate Profile

What You Bring
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting SCADA and OT/IT operations for utility-scale power generation in the U.S.

    • Utility-owned RTUs
  • Familiarity with NERC compliance from a SCADA/OT perspective.
  • Fluent English and a valid U.S. driver's license.
Preferred
  • Official Ignition Certification (or completion of Inductive University training).
  • Experience supporting multi-site or fleet-level operations.
  • Knowledge of solar technologies; energy storage and wind experience a plus.
  • Experience with SEL products and utility telemetry standards.
Core Strengths
  • Strong communicator who can lead technical discussions across vendors and internal teams.
