SR. SYSTEM ENGINEER (DEVELOPMENT) - DATA SCIENTIST / DATA ANALYST (POWER BI)

Overview
A major organisation is seeking a Senior System Engineer specialising in data analytics and Microsoft Power Platform development. The role focuses on building business applications, automated workflows, and data-driven dashboards to support decision-making and operational efficiency across multiple departments.

Key Responsibilities

Application Development (Power Platform)

• Design, develop, and deploy business applications using Power Apps
• Build automated workflows using Power Automate to improve efficiency
• Develop user-friendly interfaces with strong focus on usability and accessibility
• Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with business requirements

Data Analytics and Reporting

• Create dashboards and reports using Power BI to deliver actionable insights
• Design and maintain data models using Dataverse and other databases
• Write efficient queries and support database design activities
• Translate business requirements into analytical solutions

Stakeholder Engagement and Requirements Gathering

• Collaborate with business users to gather and define requirements
• Identify process inefficiencies and propose digital solutions
• Define success metrics and ensure delivered solutions meet expectations
• Provide ongoing support, training, and documentation for end users

System Optimisation and Licensing

• Analyse Power Platform licensing models and optimise cost-effective usage
• Recommend appropriate licensing strategies based on business needs
• Monitor usage patterns and support licence governance in collaboration with IT teams

Governance, Documentation and Support

• Document technical specifications, user guides, and training materials
• Ensure adherence to development best practices and security standards
• Provide post-deployment support and continuous improvement
• Stay updated with Microsoft Power Platform and related technologies

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Systems
• Minimum 8 years of experience in relevant IT or data-focused roles
• At least 3 years of experience developing solutions using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse)
• Strong experience in data modelling and database design
• Proficiency in Power BI reporting and dashboard development
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, SharePoint, and Office 365 is an advantage
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams
• Understanding of Power Platform licensing models is highly desirable
• Microsoft Power Platform certifications are a plus
