Engineering Lead – QFAB

Overview
An opportunity is available for an experienced Yard Engineering Lead to support large-scale offshore topsides fabrication and commissioning activities. The role provides critical engineering oversight within a fabrication yard environment, ensuring seamless transition from detailed engineering into construction, pre-commissioning, and final handover.

You will act as the key technical interface between engineering teams and site execution, ensuring compliance with project specifications, engineering standards, and international codes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide on-site engineering support during fabrication, construction, and commissioning activities
• Review contractor engineering queries, redline mark-ups, and as-built documentation
• Act as the engineering interface between fabrication yard and design engineering teams
• Resolve technical engineering issues across multiple disciplines during site execution
• Ensure timely delivery of engineering inputs to support construction and commissioning progress
• Participate in design and technical workshops and ensure follow-up actions are closed
• Support implementation of lessons learned, value engineering, and safety reviews
• Coordinate with subject matter experts to validate technical deviations where required
• Ensure management of change procedures are followed for any site-driven design changes
• Attend factory and site acceptance testing and support commissioning activities
• Support preparation and coordination of procedures for equipment handover to operations
• Monitor engineering deliverables to ensure alignment with site execution requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in engineering roles within large oil and gas projects
• Strong understanding of offshore topsides, fabrication yard operations, and construction execution
• Knowledge of engineering standards, design codes, specifications, and safety requirements
• Experience across multiple disciplines such as mechanical, piping, structural, electrical, instrumentation, or telecoms
• Strong coordination experience between engineering and site execution teams
• Ability to work in multicultural, multidisciplinary project environments
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent written and spoken English
