Piping Engineer (Design – Level I) – Design with Stress & Materials Exposure

Location: Project-based (Onshore / Offshore – EPC environment), UAE
Contract Type: Project assignment / Fixed-term (as per project requirement)
Work Pattern: Office/site-based depending on project phase

Overview
An opportunity is available for a Piping Engineer to support EPC and EPCM project delivery across onshore and offshore oil and gas developments. The role focuses on piping design and layout engineering, with additional exposure to piping stress and materials engineering activities.

You will contribute to the delivery of safe, constructible, and high-quality engineering outputs across FEED and detailed design stages, working within a multidisciplinary project team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop piping design deliverables including layouts, general arrangement drawings, and detailed engineering drawings
  • Produce and update piping isometrics, tie-in packages, and related design documentation
  • Review project specifications, engineering inputs, and supplier data to execute assigned scope
  • Ensure piping designs are constructible, compliant, and aligned with project standards
  • Prepare and support piping material take-offs and quantity estimation
  • Participate in 3D model reviews and support clash resolution with other disciplines
  • Ensure design coordination across piping, mechanical, structural, and other engineering disciplines
  • Provide design support during construction phase including response to technical queries and RFIs
  • Support site surveys and brownfield tie-in verification when required

Preferred Exposure – Stress Engineering Support

  • Provide design inputs for piping stress analysis activities
  • Support routing adjustments based on stress requirements (flexibility, supports, loops, anchors)
  • Assist in coordination of nozzle loads and interface data with other disciplines
  • Support pipe support definition and design coordination

Preferred Exposure – Materials Engineering Support

  • Maintain and update line lists, piping service data, and material specifications
  • Support preparation of piping datasheets and specialty item documentation
  • Assist in material requisitions and technical bid evaluations
  • Review vendor documentation and support resolution of technical clarifications
  • Support material traceability and compliance requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in piping engineering within oil and gas or process industries
  • Strong experience in piping design and layout deliverables (2D and/or 3D environment)
  • Experience in EPC or EPCM project delivery environments
  • Exposure to piping stress and/or materials engineering is highly desirable
  • Experience with brownfield and greenfield projects
  • Strong understanding of piping codes, standards, and industry practices
  • Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced project environments
  • Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with industry tools and design systems is an advantage

Additional Information

  • Role may involve both office-based engineering and occasional site support activities
  • Candidates must be comfortable working in multi-disciplinary, deadline-driven environments
  • Strong focus on safety, constructability, and quality engineering delivery is required
  • Exposure to Middle East EPC projects is an advantage
