Overview
An opportunity is available for an experienced Piping Engineer – Level II to support offshore and onshore EPC/EPCM projects within the oil and gas sector. The role involves leading and delivering piping engineering scopes across FEED and detailed design phases, with a strong emphasis on stress analysis, pipe supports, and materials engineering.

You will also provide technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring safe, compliant, and constructible design delivery across multidisciplinary project environments.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead piping engineering activities for assigned scopes and support delivery of larger project packages
  • Plan and deliver engineering work to meet project schedule, quality, and budget requirements
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers and designers, providing technical guidance and checking of deliverables
  • Coordinate with lead engineers and project management to manage priorities, risks, and interfaces

Piping Design & Offshore Engineering

  • Develop and review piping layouts, general arrangements, and 3D model outputs
  • Ensure designs meet operability, maintainability, safety, and constructability requirements
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces across structural, mechanical, process, and E&I teams
  • Support offshore-specific design constraints including brownfield tie-ins and installation limitations

Piping Stress Analysis & Supports (Core Focus)

  • Perform and/or review piping stress analysis using approved tools and methodologies
  • Evaluate thermal, dynamic, and mechanical load cases including vibration, surge, and environmental effects
  • Prepare and maintain stress deliverables including reports, critical line lists, and nozzle load data
  • Define and coordinate pipe support requirements with structural teams
  • Resolve stress-related technical issues during design and construction phases

Materials Engineering & Procurement Support (Core Focus)

  • Develop and maintain piping material specifications, line classes, and service data
  • Prepare and review datasheets for valves, fittings, flanges, and specialty items
  • Support material take-offs, MTOs, and procurement documentation
  • Participate in technical bid evaluations and vendor document reviews
  • Ensure compliance with material traceability and procurement requirements

Construction & Site Support

  • Provide technical support during fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases
  • Respond to RFIs, site queries, and design clarifications
  • Support field verification, tie-in validation, and brownfield modifications
  • Ensure as-built updates are incorporated where applicable

Quality, Safety & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with project procedures, international codes, and engineering standards
  • Apply Safety in Design principles and support hazard and risk assessments
  • Participate in design reviews and ensure quality assurance processes are followed
  • Support change management through technical input and documentation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in piping engineering within oil and gas or process industries
  • At least 5 years’ offshore project experience (mandatory)
  • Strong background in FEED and detailed engineering delivery
  • Solid experience in piping stress analysis and pipe support design
  • Strong knowledge of piping materials engineering and procurement processes
  • Experience in EPC/EPCM project environments
  • Familiarity with international codes and standards used in oil and gas projects
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and coordinating engineering teams
  • Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
  • GCC and ADNOC project experience is an advantage
