Senior Planning Engineer

Overview
An opportunity is available for experienced Senior Planning Engineers to support a major gas development project in Saudi Arabia. The role involves leading planning and scheduling activities within a multidisciplinary engineering and project delivery environment.
The successful candidates will be responsible for developing and maintaining resource-loaded schedules, monitoring project progress, supporting project controls activities, and providing accurate planning analysis and reporting to project teams and stakeholders.
Candidates with previous experience supporting major oil and gas projects within PMT or EPC environments will be highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project schedules in line with contractual milestones and project objectives
- Prepare and manage resource-loaded baseline schedules using Primavera P6
- Produce project planning deliverables including S-curves, histograms, manpower reports, and progress data
- Monitor project progress and analyse schedule performance, productivity, and critical path activities
- Prepare weekly and monthly planning and progress reports
- Support project teams with planning, forecasting, and reporting activities
- Update schedules to reflect progress, scope changes, and revised delivery information
- Support change management processes including schedule impact analysis and re-baselining activities
- Coordinate deliverable and drawing updates across engineering disciplines
- Ensure project teams remain aligned with project milestones and performance targets
- Support recovery planning and mitigation strategies where schedule slippages occur
- Maintain compliance with project procedures, QA requirements, and project controls standards
- Promote effective coordination within project controls teams and multidisciplinary project environments
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 10 years of relevant planning and scheduling experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience within engineering, EPC, or oil and gas project environments
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6
- Strong understanding of project controls, planning methodologies, and scheduling best practices
- Experience preparing and maintaining Level II and Level III resource-loaded schedules
- Strong analytical and reporting skills with experience in schedule performance analysis
- Knowledge of project controls tools, spreadsheets, and reporting systems
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage tight project deadlines
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience within major gas, oil and gas, or energy projects
- PMT or EPC contractor experience preferred
- Familiarity with Middle East project delivery environments
- Knowledge of regional project procedures and standards is advantageous
