EngineeringAs a Contract Well Management Engineer, you will provide technical and operational expertise supporting well servicing, intervention, and workover activities across Bakken assets in the Williston Basin.
Your primary responsibility will be to plan, coordinate, and execute well management operations (post-completion), including drillouts, artificial lift optimization, remedial workovers, and plug & abandonment (P&A) activities, while ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery.
You will work closely with field supervisors, service providers, and cross-functional teams to drive operational performance, minimize downtime, and maximize well productivity in a fast-paced unconventional environment. What You Will Do

Your primary responsibility will be to plan, coordinate, and execute well management operations (post-completion), including drillouts, artificial lift optimization, remedial workovers, and plug & abandonment (P&A) activities, while ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery.
You will work closely with field supervisors, service providers, and cross-functional teams to drive operational performance, minimize downtime, and maximize well productivity in a fast-paced unconventional environment. What You Will Do
- Develop and execute well servicing and intervention programs, ensuring strong focus on safety, regulatory compliance, and operational integrity
- Design and optimize well management operations, including:
- Workovers (rod lift, ESP systems)
- Coil tubing and drillout operations
- Wireline and remedial interventions
- Plug and abandonment activities
- Provide technical support and real-time troubleshooting for ongoing well servicing operations in the field
- Perform risk assessments and contingency planning for well intervention activities, including well control considerations and HSE impacts
- Develop and maintain well cost estimates, track AFE performance, and support cost optimization efforts
- Interface directly with service companies and contractors, ensuring effective coordination and timely delivery of services
- Monitor contractor performance using KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Investigate non-productive time (NPT) and equipment failures and support corrective action plans
- Provide daily operational surveillance, identify deviations, and recommend optimization opportunities
- Collaborate closely with field supervisors and operations teams to ensure safe and efficient execution
- Lead pre-job planning meetings and post-job reviews, capturing lessons learned and best practices
- Deliver final well reports, including cost reconciliation and operational performance summaries
- Stay current on Bakken well servicing technologies, artificial lift strategies, and intervention best practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent field experience
- 5–15 years of experience in well servicing / well management operations
- Strong leadership, coordination, and contractor management skills
- Excellent communication skills across field and office environments
- High level of personal and professional integrity.
- Prior experience in contract or consulting roles supporting upstream operations
- Understanding of Bakken well designs, completion systems, and production decline behaviors
- Experience with high-volume well servicing programs in unconventional plays
- Familiarity with North Dakota regulatory requirements and operational conditions
