Mechanical Engineer II
Location: Houston, TX
Job Type: 12 months
Rate: $100 Per Hour

Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer II to support the design and development of fluid subsystems and mechanical package solutions. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality engineering designs, performing technical analyses, and producing accurate documentation in support of complex industrial projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving capabilities, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop fluid subsystems, including fuel, lubrication, hydraulic, and air handling systems
  • Support structural package and skid design, including baseplates and sub-skids
  • Perform engineering calculations such as pressure drop analysis, pump sizing, valve selection, and stress evaluations
  • Prepare and review engineering documentation, including P&IDs, general arrangement drawings, assembly drawings, and equipment datasheets
  • Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical specifications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, and external suppliers, to ensure project requirements are met
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and project planning activities
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline
  • Significant experience in mechanical design and engineering (typically 10 years)
  • Strong understanding of fluid systems and industrial equipment
  • Proficiency in engineering calculations, system design, and technical documentation
  • Knowledge of applicable industry standards and codes (e.g., API, ASME, ISO)
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within the oil & gas, energy, or heavy industrial sectors
  • Familiarity with packaged equipment or skid-based system design
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and external vendors
