Senior Civil Structural Engineer - Offshore

About the Opportunity
An international energy operator is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Structural Engineer to support offshore oil and gas engineering projects in Qatar. This role will focus on providing technical engineering support across offshore civil and structural design activities from concept development through FEED, detailed engineering and commissioning phases.
The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors and project stakeholders to support safe, high-quality and efficient project delivery across multiple offshore developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide civil and structural engineering support for offshore oil and gas projects
- Deliver technical design and engineering activities in accordance with project requirements, engineering standards and HSE regulations
- Support engineering activities from concept selection through engineering studies, FEED, detailed design and commissioning phases
- Conduct in-house engineering assessments and offshore site surveys as required
- Review and evaluate technical deviations, engineering variations and contractor submissions
- Support the development, review and implementation of engineering standards and technical procedures
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities to support timely project execution
- Develop and review engineering scopes of work and technical documentation
- Review and approve contractor method statements and technical deliverables
- Support project scheduling and coordination activities related to FEED and EPIC execution
- Participate in technical bid evaluations and contractor assessment activities
- Support engineering quality, safety and environmental compliance across project activities
- Contribute to technical mentoring and development initiatives within the engineering team
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related discipline
- Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer status is preferred
- Minimum 10 years of post-graduate engineering experience
- Minimum 6 years of experience within the oil and gas industry
- Strong knowledge of offshore civil and structural engineering standards, codes and industry practices
- Experience supporting engineering studies, FEED, detailed design and commissioning activities
- Proven ability to manage engineering quality, cost and schedule across multiple projects
- Strong communication, presentation and technical report writing skills
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams and contractor activities
- Able to work effectively within multicultural and project-driven environments
