Job Description
We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Electrical Engineer for a major project within the petrochemical sector. The ideal candidate will bring extensive engineering expertise, strong technical leadership, and a proven background supporting large-scale FEED and EPC projects.
Key Qualifications & Experience
- Industry Experience: In petrochemical, fertilizer, refining, oil, or gas industries, with a recognized international FEED/EPC contractor.
- Project Lifecycle Expertise: Full cycle experience including basic engineering, detailed engineering, construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning support.
- Operational & Design Issue Resolution: Strong capability in troubleshooting and resolving design/operational challenges.
- Electrical Design Competency: Expertise in PDP, FEED, pre-tender design, and electrical engineering for greenfield and brownfield facilities.
- Project Controls: Skilled in scheduling, man-hour control, productivity tracking, and status reporting.
- Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with ETAP modeling and PSCAD.
- Technical Leadership: Ability to support procurement, interface with vendors/clients, and guide engineering teams.
- FEED Project Exposure: Experience with FEED projects of ~100,000 man-hours.
Technical Competencies
- International Standards Knowledge: Deep understanding of IEC, NEC, NFPA, PIP, and other global codes and industrial practices.
- Specification & Document Development: Skilled in preparing specifications, datasheets, SLDs, layouts (equipment, cable, grounding), and engineering deliverables.
- Vendor & Contractor Coordination: Ability to interpret project standards, evaluate vendor deviations, and provide technical support.
- Equipment Selection: Strong knowledge of selecting electrical equipment based on process conditions.
- Design Review & Approval: Competent in reviewing and approving electrical design documents.
- Value Engineering: Familiarity with VE techniques and optimization practices.
- Troubleshooting & RCA: Strong capability in diagnosing chronic plant issues and developing long-term solutions.
- Technical Representation: Work with vendor technical teams to resolve issues.
- PDP & FEED Proposals: Experience preparing proposals for PDP and FEED phases.
Leadership & Communication
- Training & Mentoring: Ability to coach, mentor, and develop junior engineers.
- Technical Publications: Experience preparing technical articles and presenting at conferences.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal English communication.
- Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal, leadership, planning, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Presentation Skills: Capable of delivering clear and effective presentations.

- Experience Requirement: Minimum 15 years of professional engineering experience with an accredited Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (4-year program or global equivalent).
- Professional Certification: Recognized professional certification or registration preferred; membership in relevant technical societies is an advantage.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong job-related technical expertise required to perform responsibilities effectively.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Ability to learn and apply local, regional, and national engineering statutes, codes, and guidelines.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy, time-conscious work habits, and effective task management.
- Discipline Codes & Standards: Advanced knowledge of discipline-specific codes, standards, material availability, and cost considerations.
- Field Experience: Practical field exposure and hands-on understanding of engineering execution.
- Software Skills: Intermediate proficiency in office and engineering software (word processing, email, spreadsheets, and presentation tools).
