A Safety Officer 2 (SO2) implements and monitors workplace health and safety programs to ensure compliance with government regulations and company policies.

Core Responsibilities

• Hazard Identification: Conduct daily site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits to identify potential workplace hazards.
• Policy Implementation: Enforce the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure strict adherence to safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, DOLE).
• Training & Education: Facilitate safety briefings, toolbox meetings, and in-house orientation programs for staff and contractors.
• Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents or near-misses, determine root causes, and prepare detailed reports with corrective recommendations.
• Compliance Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation, injury logs, and safety records for management and regulatory review
• mergency Preparedness: Assist in the design and execution of emergency response plans and evacuation drills

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical/science field
• Certifications: Mandatory Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) or Construction Occupational Safety and Health (COSH) certification.
• Experience: Typically requires 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in occupational safety, often specific to construction or industrial sites, preferably in any large-scale Oil & Gas or Utility Scale Renewable Energy Projects (Solar/Wind/BESS/Hydro).
• Skills: Strong working knowledge of local safety legislation, hazard identification tools, and excellent communication and leadership skills.
