Primary Objective

Lead all design and drafting activities related to the discipline for the assigned asset.

You will play a key role in delivering safe, sustainable infrastructure by leading a high-performing team and ensuring engineering excellence across all phases of the project. Your regional experience and PMC background will be critical in navigating project complexity and delivering value to our clients.

What You Will Do

• Work with design teams to establish appropriate equipment arrangements and piping layouts.
• Prepare original designs, specifications, and reports, and coordinate with drafters/designers and supervising engineers.
• Review drawings, models, and submittals; maintain familiarity with piping, pipe stress, and pipe supports.
• Ensure the level of design work aligns with the complexity of construction tasks, maintaining an appropriate balance between design and implementation costs.
• Ensure feedback from supervisors and/or superintendents confirms that constructability issues are adequately addressed and that work packs contain sufficient and relevant detail.
• Conduct site investigations and prepare reports.
• Prepare detailed designs in conjunction with engineers.
• Apply Quality Assurance requirements and work within the relevant guidelines of the business unit.
• Promote safe working practices and ensure compliance with OH&S procedures.

What You Will Bring

• Advanced engineering drafting and checking capability.
• Ability to produce 2D drawings using computer-aided design systems.
• Ability to produce 3D drawings using computer-aided design systems.
• Demonstrated experience working in the Middle East project environment.
• Experience working in a PMC (Project Management Consultancy) environment.

Qualifications / Experience

• Full-time Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Piping Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 15 years of total experience post graduate studies.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the oil & gas, refinery, or petrochemical industry.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Lead Design Engineer or equivalent.
• Previous experience working with a contractor or in a comparable delivery model.
