Job Description

We are looking for Assistant Commissioning Officer's to work in the People Commissioning Team. We have three positions available in the Older Adults team two full time and one part time, presenting exciting opportunities to play a key role in implementing exciting changes across a number of our services

The Service & Team:

The People Commissioning Service are seeking Assistant Commissioning Officer's in the Older People's Adults teams. The teams are responsible for commissioning good quality, safe and cost-effective services that meet the needs of target populations in Cornwall.

The Assistant Commissioning Officer will work with partners across the Adult Social Care system, including NHS colleagues, operational teams, care providers & service users to support the implementation of the Commissioning Intentions in line with National and Local policy direction.

The Role:

The role holder will be expected to work within the people commissioning team to support the work with partner organisations and stakeholders to review and deliver the specific commissioning intentions as identified in the team plan.

This will involve analysis of residents' needs and performance by service providers, planning and contributing to the effective contracting and procurement processes used by the team. The post holder will take an active role and support the people commissioning team in the co production of services with service users and communities

What you'll need to succeed:

Interest in the commissioning and procurement of social care / people services

Experience of engaging with members of the public, people accessing services, carers or other stakeholders

Has knowledge of good customer care and experience of dealing with a wide range of people

Ability to examine, interpret and extract information, then organise it in an appropriate format for analysis

Experience of working as part of a team, demonstrating an ability to work on own initiative but also to accept direction
