Job Objective
Provide piping engineering expertise and technical oversight within the Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for ADNOC oil and gas projects. Ensure that all piping engineering and design activities executed by EPC contractors comply with ADNOC standards, project specifications, international codes, and industry best practices. Support project execution through FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up phases while ensuring technical integrity, safety, quality, cost-effectiveness, and schedule compliance.

Job Objective
Provide piping engineering expertise and technical oversight within the Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for ADNOC oil and gas projects. Ensure that all piping engineering and design activities executed by EPC contractors comply with ADNOC standards, project specifications, international codes, and industry best practices. Support project execution through FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up phases while ensuring technical integrity, safety, quality, cost-effectiveness, and schedule compliance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Engineering Management & Technical Review
- Review and approve piping engineering deliverables prepared by EPC contractors and engineering consultants.
- Ensure compliance with ADNOC standards, project specifications, company procedures, and applicable international codes such as ASME, API, ASTM, and ISO.
- Provide technical expertise and recommendations on piping engineering matters throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in multidisciplinary engineering reviews and resolve technical interface issues.
- Support value engineering and optimization initiatives to improve project efficiency and constructability.
Piping Design Oversight
- Review and monitor piping system designs, including:
- Process piping systems
- Utility piping systems
- Offsite and interconnecting pipelines
- Pipe routing and layout development
- Material selection and corrosion management
- Stress analysis and flexibility studies
- Pipe supports and special support systems
- Valve selection and piping components
- Tie-ins and brownfield modifications
- Verify compliance with project design criteria, operational requirements, and safety standards.
- Ensure piping designs are maintainable, operable, and constructible.
Layout, Model & Design Reviews
- Review plot plans, equipment layouts, piping layouts, and 3D model developments.
- Participate in model reviews and constructability assessments.
- Ensure adequate access, maintenance clearances, and operational requirements are incorporated into designs.
- Identify and resolve piping clashes and interface issues.
Contractor Engineering Management
- Monitor EPC contractor engineering performance and deliverable schedules.
- Review technical queries, design deviations, concessions, and management of change (MOC) requests.
- Evaluate contractor proposals and recommend technically sound solutions.
- Ensure timely closure of engineering comments and action items.
- Participate in technical meetings and design review workshops.
Stress Analysis & Technical Integrity
- Review piping stress analysis reports and calculations.
- Verify compliance with applicable code requirements and stress criteria.
- Ensure proper design of critical lines, expansion systems, and support arrangements.
- Review vibration assessments and mitigation measures where required.
- Monitor piping integrity and reliability considerations during design development.
Procurement & Vendor Support
- Review piping material specifications, requisitions, and procurement packages.
- Support technical bid evaluations and vendor document reviews.
- Verify compatibility of vendor package interfaces with piping systems.
- Ensure timely resolution of vendor-related engineering issues.
Construction & Commissioning Support
- Provide engineering support during construction, fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning phases.
- Review construction work packs, method statements, and installation procedures.
- Assist in resolving site technical issues and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Participate in site inspections and technical assessments when required.
- Support hydrotesting, reinstatement, mechanical completion, and system handover activities.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure all piping engineering deliverables meet project quality requirements.
- Participate in engineering audits, design reviews, and quality assurance activities.
- Verify implementation of project specifications and ADNOC engineering requirements.
- Monitor closure of audit findings and technical action items.
HSE & Risk Management
- Ensure piping engineering activities comply with ADNOC HSE requirements and safe design principles.
- Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, constructability, SIMOPS, and risk assessment workshops.
- Identify piping-related technical risks and recommend mitigation measures.
- Support loss prevention and process safety objectives through safe and reliable piping design.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare technical reports, engineering evaluations, and project progress updates.
- Review contractor engineering progress and deliverable status reports.
- Monitor piping engineering activities against project schedules and milestones.
- Maintain records of engineering reviews, approvals, and technical correspondence.

Expected:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- Minimum 15 years of experience in oil & gas projects
- At least 3+ years experiene in similar position
- At least 5+ years in a PMC role on ADNOC or similar Middle East projects
- Strong experience in large-scale EPC/EPCM projects (CAPEX > USD 500M)
- Familiarity with ADNOC standards, specifications, and work practices is essential
- Must be qualified to obtain a CICPA and a UAE work visa
