Job Title: Site Engineer - Mechanical (Fire Fighting & Plumbing)
Job Location: Dubai, UAE
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
Experience:
- 4 to 6 years of experience in mechanical site execution for commercial, residential, industrial, or mixed-use projects.
- GCC / UAE site experience is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems installation.
Computer Software Proficiency:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD for reviewing mechanical drawings.
- Familiarity with project documentation tools is an advantage.
Registrations / Certifications:
- UAE Society of Engineers (SOE) Membership
- Basic HSE training certification (advantage).
- Awareness of ISO 9001:2015 quality procedures (Preferable).
- UAE driving license (Preferred).
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and monitor installation of firefighting and plumbing systems as per approved shop drawings, project specifications, and UAE authority requirements.
- Manage daily site activities including manpower allocation, work sequencing, and progress monitoring.
- Review drawings, specifications, method statements, and material submittals prior to execution.
- Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, and other disciplines to resolve site coordination issues.
- Supervise installation of sprinkler systems, hose reels, pumps, water supply, drainage, sewage, storm water, and associated piping systems.
- Ensure all works comply with DCD, Dubai Municipality, DEWA, project specifications, and applicable standards such as NFPA and BS standards.
- Verify delivered materials against approved submittals and specifications.
- Coordinate with QA/QC team for inspections, testing, and consultant approvals.
- Prepare Inspection Requests (IR), Material Inspection Requests (MIR), and progress reports.
- Supervise testing and commissioning activities including hydrostatic testing, flushing, and functional testing.
- Identify design and constructability issues and raise RFIs when required.
- Monitor site productivity and ensure activities are completed within planned schedules.
- Ensure implementation of quality procedures and HSE requirements at site.
- Review as-built drawings and maintain records of site activities and project documentation.
- Report progress, technical issues, and resource requirements to the Project Manager or Senior Mechanical Engineer.
