The Service holder will be part of the Field Operations team of the B58 GranMorgu Project and reports to the Method Production Lead.
The Chemical Treatment Engineer service provider will act as the technical reference for all topics related to chemical treatment and production chemistry.
Interfaces with the offshore site and the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Contractor, client's local affiliate and headquarters, the chemicals supplier(s) and manufacturer(s) to continuously control and optimize the chemicals supply and injection in both topside and subsea asset will be required.
Activities
Project execution phase (up to mid-2028)
The activity takes place in the context of the execution phase of a major project in Suriname. The Suriname Project is a multidisciplinary team that coordinates the project managed by the client on the Deep and Shallow Water discoveries of offshore Suriname Block 58. The technical challenges the Project will face are the reservoir development and management, FPSO, and subsea production/injection system. The Suriname Team will develop the Project with the objectives of maximizing economic results by optimizing the reserves, and the schedule, reducing the costs and the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emission, while maintaining the technical quality of the installations, with high H3SE requirements and focus.

Shanghai/Qidong in China (from Q3 2026) – Paramaribo in Suriname (from Q3 2027)

Activities
Project execution phase (up to mid-2028)
- Actively participate to the follow-up/update of the Method Production team’s roadmap and planning to secure the readiness of the production team at first oil,
- Assist the Method Production Lead in:
- The supervision/management of the tender(s) related to chemicals supply up to contract(s) award(s),
- The selection of specialty chemicals and the follow-up of the associated testing programs.
- Manage the execution of the chemicals-related contract(s) for GranMorgu FPSO:
- Act as the focal point for the chemicals supplier(s) and related service provider(s) on all technical matters,
- Follow-up the engineering and construction of the chemicals onshore base and ensure that the base is built and delivered in accordance with the technical requirements, planning and budget,
- Ensure that chemicals for first fills are delivered in due time at yard in China, onshore in Suriname and at offshore site,
- Ensure that chemicals stock management procedures and tools, and all necessary logistics procedures are in place in due time.
- Follow-up Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Contractor and FPSO Contractor activities related to laboratory and chemicals injection packages:
- Ensure that Contractors’ documentation related to operations and maintenance of the laboratory and chemicals injection packages, such as operating manuals, maintenance procedures, sampling and analysis procedures are issued in accordance with the Contractors’ planning and relevant technical requirements,
- Assist the FPSO Package team in the review of the engineering documentation issued by the FPSO Contractor and Vendors and related to the design of the laboratory and chemicals injection packages,
- Participate to the Factory Acceptance Tests at Vendors,
- Follow-up installation, Site Acceptance Tests, Commissioning of laboratory and chemicals injection packages on FPSO topside, at China yards and at offshore site,
- Follow-up deployment of the O&M Contractor software management systems and tools for laboratory analysis and reporting. Ensure interface operability/compatibility with client ones.
- Supervise and manage the chemical treatment activities:
- Act as the technical reference for production chemistry and laboratory activities,
- Continuously oversee the topside and subsea chemicals injection by O&M Contractor to ensure that both chemical treatment and on-site chemicals injection are optimized,
- Ensure that the laboratory activities are performed according to the targeted standards,
- Continuously liaise with O&M Contractor and offshore site team to ensure that offshore site receives adequate support for troubleshooting,
- Follow-up the topside and subsea maintenance and inspections results. Implement the subsequent recommendations in the chemical treatment program,
- Manage the interface with the client's HQ treatment team,
- Participate in the Operations team regular meetings (daily, weekly, monthly),
- Consolidate the weekly/monthly reporting and the consumptions follow up,
- Provide monthly chemical injection forecasts and ensure that they are implemented by the O&M Contractor,
- Provide all necessary inputs for the chemical treatment budget and monitor it on regular basis,
- Ensure that all injections and laboratory data are properly populated and reported in the appropriate tools.
- Supervise and manage the execution of the chemicals-related contract(s) for GranMorgu FPSO in interface with the client's Logistics department:
- Act as the client's focal point for the chemicals supplier(s) and related service provider(s) on all technical matters,
- Ensure that QAQC checks at chemicals’ reception are performed and reported in accordance with the requirements,
- Ensure that the chemicals stock is well managed and material orders are placed in due time,
- Ensure that the site deliveries are performed and optimized as per the logistics planning,
- Ensure that chemicals waste management is performed in accordance with the technical and HSE requirements.

Qualifications & Experience Required
- Professional Experience (years): 5 to 10 years in the oil & gas industry, production chemistry area with strong experience on FPSOs
- Level / Diploma: Degree in process / chemical engineering or equivalent
- Must be familiar with oil & gas engineering and flow assurance issues
- Fully conversant with HSE and process design rules
- Must have an attitude for analyzing data and recognizing abnormal conditions
- Must have good communication and coordination skills to work with various entities in interface
- Languages: fluent in English, Dutch is a plus
- Bosiet will be indeed necessary, but not before Q1 2028, however provided by the Supplier
