Job Title: Commissioning Lead (Electrical)
Working Location: Qatar Onshore & Offshore
Contract Type: Contract
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all execution of electrical commissioning activities to achieve the commissioning schedule on target with all safety requirements, especially during SIMOPS.
- Responsible for electrical commissioning activities offshore.
- Lead execution for electrical commissioning at site (offshore and onshore) and ensure commissioning execution is committed to targets defined by project management.
- Supervise contractor electrical commissioning activities, ensuring commissioning methodology is respected and system database is used properly.
- Accountable for readiness of commissioning spare parts and special tools for electrical packages.
- Manage system completion, walkdowns, and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) for electrical systems.
- Contribute to the development of commissioning documents, including procedures, method statements, and check sheets used during commissioning.
- Ensure the correct application of safety and cybersecurity procedures during electrical commissioning activities (1st energization, LOTO, PTW, JSA).
- Maintain a register of lessons learned for the offshore scope.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Applied Sciences or Engineering.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Minimum 8 years' experience with large projects in the Oil and Gas industry, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role or oversight of service/vendor personnel.
- Knowledge of compliance with contract requirements including codes and standards, as well as contract technical specifications.
- Experience in project execution, engineering, operations, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and systems completion.
- Proficient in reading P&IDs, datasheets, general arrangement drawings, and procedures.
- Experience with vendors operating in the LNG industry (compressors, power generation, control systems, topsides, etc).
- Demonstrated ability in managing commissioning execution and performing OTs of electrical systems such as UPS, normal and emergency power distribution, subsea cables, umbilicals, and transformers.
- Strong knowledge and experience with electrical systems including LV and HV systems, power distribution boards, control systems, protection relays, and subsea power cable.
- Familiar with LOTO procedures and electrical codes and standards.
- Experience handling EPC contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors.
- Working knowledge of ATEX/IEC regulations.
- Experience in start-up support and handover to operations.
- Offshore environment experience.
Technical and Business Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and collaboration within a project management team.
- High proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Proficient in computer applications for professional office use and some technical applications.
- Strong ability to communicate with contractor teams and obtain required information promptly.
- Experience in interface coordination, support activities, and documentation.
