Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead ICSS Engineer to support the delivery of major offshore and onshore oil and gas projects in Malaysia. This role will lead the engineering, design, integration, and commissioning of Integrated Control and Safety Systems (ICSS), ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of process facilities.

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality control and safety solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of Integrated Control and Safety Systems (ICSS) for oil and gas facilities.

• Manage and coordinate ICSS engineering activities throughout project execution.

• Collaborate with process, electrical, instrumentation, and project engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration.

• Review and approve engineering deliverables including control narratives, cause and effect matrices, loop diagrams, and system architecture documentation.

• Ensure ICSS designs comply with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Manage vendor packages and provide technical oversight during procurement, manufacturing, and testing activities.

• Lead Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and system validation activities.

• Support risk assessments, safety studies, and safety lifecycle management activities.

• Provide technical support during commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and handover phases.

• Monitor project progress, technical performance, and quality standards.

• Mentor and develop junior engineers and project team members.

• Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 13 years of experience in ICSS, DCS, ESD, SIS, or industrial control systems engineering within the oil and gas industry.

• Proven experience leading ICSS engineering activities on large EPC, EPCIC, or brownfield projects.

• Strong knowledge of control systems, safety systems, and process automation technologies.

• Experience with offshore and/or onshore oil and gas facilities.

• Strong understanding of functional safety and safety lifecycle management.

• Experience managing vendors, contractors, FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Strong project coordination and technical problem-solving abilities.

Work Requirements

• Willingness to work onsite in Malaysia.

• Ability to support offshore activities and site visits as required.
