Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead 3D Model Coordinator - Piping to support the delivery of major offshore and onshore oil and gas projects in Malaysia. This role is responsible for leading piping modelling activities, coordinating multidisciplinary interfaces, and ensuring the successful development and delivery of high-quality 3D models throughout the project lifecycle.

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership to the piping modelling team while working closely with engineering disciplines, clients, fabricators, and construction teams to ensure models are accurate, clash-free, and aligned with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate 3D piping modelling activities in accordance with project specifications, engineering standards, and industry requirements.

• Manage the development, maintenance, and review of 3D models for complex oil and gas facilities.

• Coordinate closely with piping, structural, electrical, instrumentation, HVAC, process, and civil disciplines to resolve interface issues and model clashes.

• Ensure effective integration of all engineering disciplines within the 3D design environment.

• Monitor project schedules, deliverables, and modelling progress to ensure timely completion.

• Identify and resolve modelling risks, bottlenecks, and technical challenges.

• Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to piping designers and model coordinators.

• Conduct model reviews and ensure compliance with project quality standards.

• Prepare progress reports and provide updates to project management teams.

• Coordinate model requirements and deliverables with clients, fabricators, vendors, and subcontractors.

• Support procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning activities through accurate and up-to-date 3D models.

• Ensure model integrity, consistency, and compliance with project procedures and quality requirements.

• Participate in design reviews, constructability reviews, and interdisciplinary coordination meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 10 years of piping engineering and design experience within the oil and gas industry.

• Minimum 5 years of experience leading 3D model coordination activities on EPC or EPCIC projects.

• Strong experience developing and managing complex 3D piping models.

• Extensive knowledge of piping design principles, layouts, and multidisciplinary coordination.

• Strong understanding of piping codes, standards, and industry best practices.

• Proven leadership and team management experience.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and multicultural project environments.

Work Requirements
