Senior Instrumentation Engineer

Contract Type
Two (2) year initial contract with a possibility of extension.

Working Location
Onshore (industrial location / HQ)

Work Schedule
8-10 hours per day from Sunday to Thursday
12 Weeks ON / 2 Weeks OFF (for Single Status)
30 days annually (for Couple Status)

Job Purpose

Plan and support Instrumentation and Fire & Gas (F&G) Engineering activities with senior engineer level competency during EPC and Startup phases until handover to the permanent Asset. Ensure project deliverables meet Operations expectations in terms of Safety, Operability, Reliability and Maintainability over the facility design life cycle.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide a variety of Instrument and F&G engineering support to contribute to division strategy and goals, including design reviews (e.g. SIL workshops, assessment and verification, HAZOP), commissioning, startup, failure analysis and advanced troubleshooting.
2. Support development and implementation of surveillance and administration programs for critical Instrument and F&G systems of new projects to achieve high standards of Reliability, Availability and Cyber Security.
3. Support the definition and implementation of integrity programs for Instrument and F&G systems to achieve high standards of safety, reliability and availability.
4. Provide technical input related to area of expertise to other disciplines and functions as required to support overall business objectives.
5. Supervise the activities undertaken by contractors, consultants and service providers.
6. Guide less experienced engineers in implementing integrity and reliability systems.
7. Support and facilitate smooth completion of project tie-in requirements for all systems under the area of responsibility.
8. Maintain an Issue Register, identifying and resolving critical issues including new technology risks (under area of responsibility) which could impact project Reliability, Availability and Cyber Security.
9. Support high-risk commissioning activities for high-complexity and large-scale projects by:
a) Undertaking stringent system surveillance
b) Tuning and optimizing instrument and F&G systems
c) Providing advisory support to Operations and Maintenance

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.

Requirements

Knowledge and Experience
- Minimum 6 years of experience in an oil and gas environment.
- Demonstrated good working knowledge of:
- DCS
- PLCs
- ESD/F&G Systems
- Anti-surge Control Systems
- Metering Systems
- Turbine/Compressor Control Systems
- Full knowledge of SIL requirements.

Technical and Business Skills
- Able to work and make decisions under highly stressing conditions.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Strong leadership and people skills.
- Proficient computer skills, including:
- Microsoft Office
- SAP
- CONVAL
- InstruCal
