Job Title: SR. SYSTEMS ANALYST
Working Location: Qatar Onshore and Offshore

Reports to: Head Process, System and Support
Primary Purpose of the Job
- Act as focal point and provide business process support and problem resolution to ensure that end-users are able to execute their project tasks in SAP and other directorate systems in accordance with set timelines, and communicate business requirements and system changes to ICT to ensure efficient and effective utilization of the systems.
- Continuously assess, recommend and drive optimization initiatives for current business processes and applications.
- Identify and propose leading-edge solutions, assessing business suitability to ensure successful implementation of initiatives that enable the directorate to achieve its strategic objectives.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Coordinate first-line support to engineering departments and end-users to ensure that systems operational support is provided to meet end-user requirements.
2. Prepare business cases and detailed business requirements to implement new improvement initiatives and obtain buy-in from subject matter experts and stakeholders for the automation of business processes.
3. Conduct gap and data analysis on business processes to identify bottlenecks, constraints, dependencies, risks and opportunities for improvement, automation and integration between SAP modules and relevant systems.
4. Liaise with ICT on new requirements and current and future system support needs to ensure enhancement of functionalities and optimal utilization of all systems.
5. Facilitate resolution of cross-functional business analysis issues across the directorate and other directorates to enhance departmental and organizational processes and procedures.
6. Coordinate User Acceptance Testing, data migration of SAP modules and all systems in the directorate.
7. Provide SAP data and perform data integrity checks to conduct data analysis of business process performance and maturity.
8. Perform data modeling: develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
9. Support business process and workflow development using collaboration platforms.
10. Apply software engineering skills to support system and process improvements.
Decision Making Authority
- Operates within the framework of established corporate policies and departmental procedures. Normally works independently, with work at times reviewed by the Head Process and System for broad review and approval.
- Under general supervision, ensure that improvement of processes, business requirements and testing of application solutions are carried out and implemented in accordance with set parameters and agreed timelines.
- Encounter situations where multiple solutions may be possible, requiring solid analysis and judgment, referring more complicated issues to the supervisor. Errors in judgment or decisions could cause delays in implementation of solutions, over-expenditure and overall impact on the directorate's ability to perform its business as mandated.
- Under general supervision, review and propose amendments to processes and procedures which have overall implications on activities performed by staff at various levels.
Context / Special Features / Challenges
- Frequent contact with various internal stakeholders within the directorate including subject matter experts, technical experts, project managers, and liaison with external stakeholders from other directorates and departments.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision by exploring opportunities for business process improvements and facilitating the implementation of solutions within tight deadlines.
- Ability to evaluate and understand complex multidisciplinary technical and engineering concepts and translate them into fully functional requirements and documentation.
- Ability to resolve business problems through critical analysis, employing a variety of tools such as process and data modeling, root cause analysis, and related techniques.
Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills / Experience
- Bachelor or Master degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Science or a related field.
- Eight (8) years of experience in a business environment with specific exposure in business process and data analysis relating to project management, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
- Strong experience using a variety of data mining and data analysis methods, data tools, building and implementing models, using and creating algorithms, and creating and running simulations.
- Experience in statistical and data mining techniques (including data mining, cleaning and munging) to mine and analyze data from company databases, ERP and other legacy data sources and systems to drive optimization techniques and business strategies.
- Experience in data visualization, dashboards and reporting using data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SAS, Python, etc., with experience using web services and cloud tools.
- Knowledge of master data object definitions and models is an advantage.
- Knowledge in business process analysis, modeling, optimization and workflow automation.
- Experience in business process analysis, modeling, notation, process improvement methodologies, optimization strategies and statistical process control.
- Experience in documentation and diagramming approaches used to describe typical business components including entity relationship diagrams, process diagrams and workflow diagrams.
- Good exposure to project management principles and practices.
- Thorough understanding of business process management and ability to plan, conduct studies and document results.
- Expert proficiency in using MS Office suite applications, MS SharePoint and Power BI.
