Job summary

The role supportsthe business in driving transformation as well as value for money in planning,commissioning and service.

The role isdesigned to build a combination of subject matter expertise and technicalskills to develop a strong service delivery through developing keycommissioning approaches to the area of planned care.

You will beaccountable for:

  1. Supporting thedevelopment of strategic commissioning frameworks across designated portfolioareas.
  2. Engaging withprovider collaboratives, NHS Trusts, primary care and the independent sector asappropriate,
  3. Maintaining oversight and accountability of lead provider arrangements to ensure delivery againstthe strategic commissioning frameworks.
  4. Applying commissioning skills and knowledge to nationalpolicy to ensure application to the local population health intelligence todrive the ICBs strategic commissioning approach and reduce health inequalities.
  5. Working with other ICB clusters across theMidlands to identify and realise opportunities for Joint Commissioning.
  6. Developing skills and competencies required forstrategic and tactical commissioning functions including PHM, analytical andcontractual/legal.
  7. Deputising, asappropriate, for the Associate Director for Planned Care and will oversee linemanagement arrangements for staff across the Directorate.
