What Do We Do Here?

Our Conroe Facility produces downhole products for drilling activities. To meet the demand for our products, we provide employees with an air-conditioned environment, highly organized and clean 300,000 SQ. ft. fabrication facility, new CNC Machines (Mazak, Mori Sieke, DMG Mori, Weiler, etc.), and a strong safety program designed to ensure our team goes home safe to their families after every shift.

What's the Job Like?

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair high-voltage electrical equipment and power distribution systems.
  • Perform maintenance and testing on high-voltage and low-voltage circuit breakers, including MCBs, MCCBs, ACBs, and protective relays.
  • Connect, terminate, and commission high-voltage cables, transformers, switchgear, motors, generators, and control systems.
  • Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical systems to minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose electrical faults using testing and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, insulation resistance testers (Megger), power quality analyzers, and relay test equipment.
  • Perform switching operations and isolation procedures in accordance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Inspect and maintain electrical panels, motor control centers (MCCs), switchboards, bus ducts, and distribution equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, local electrical codes, and company safety procedures.
  • Support commissioning and startup activities for new electrical installations and equipment upgrades.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, test reports, and work orders within the CMMS system.
  • Coordinate with operations, engineering, and contractors during maintenance outages and projects.
  • Respond to emergency electrical breakdowns and provide on-call support when required related to facility and equipment.
  • Maintain NOV guidelines on safety, quality, and delivery.
  • Clean work areas as necessary to maintain cleanliness, health, and safety standards.
  • All other reasonable tasks assigned with the goal of helping the team, operations, or the facility overall.

Who's Going to be Successful in this Job?

EDUCTATIONAL & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of industrial, manufacturing, oil & gas, utility, or commercial electrical maintenance experience.
  • Valid Journeyman or Master Electrician License (as required by state/local regulations).
  • Experience working with medium- and high-voltage systems (e.g., 480V, 4.16kV, 13.8kV, or higher).
  • Strong knowledge of electrical safety practices and LOTO procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical manuals.


Preferred:

  • Relevant technical degree or apprenticeship preferred.
  • Experience with substations, switchgear, transformers, protective relays, and VFDs.
  • Certifiable in NFPA 70E Electrical Safety.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting and industrial automation systems.
  • NETA, NICET, or equivalent electrical testing certification.


Experience with:

  • Electrical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
  • Circuit breaker maintenance and testing
  • Cable termination and equipment commissioning
  • Preventive and predictive maintenance
  • Electrical safety and hazard recognition


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in industrial environments, including confined spaces and elevated work areas.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including arc-flash-rated clothing and electrical protective equipment.
  • Ability to work extended hours, shifts, weekends, and emergency call-outs when required.
