Lakes College is a technical vocational Further Education College delivering education and training to full-time and part-time learners and apprentices to degree level. We have a vibrant campus in West Cumbria with state of the art vocational workshops and resources, including the National College for Nuclear Northern Hub.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to complement our existing delivery team. The successful candidate will have a wide range of experience in the Mechanical Engineering sector along with the drive and passion to contribute to the expansion of the department as we strive towards becoming an outstanding provider of education and training.

You will be an excellent communicator, combined with advanced organisational skills and have the ability to work with people across a broad range of sectors. This role will compliment a strong existing team and build upon our vision for the future as we grow and develop.

You will possess a NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent and must have relevant industry experience. Recent relevant teaching experience along with a recognised teaching qualification is considered advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided from our outstanding teacher education department.

    Qualifications

    Level 3 Mechanical Engineering essential

    Minimum Level 2 Maths and English qualification essential

    Degree in a relevant subject desirable

    Formal Teaching Qualification (Cert Ed/ PGCE / BA Ed) desirable

    Hold an assessor qualification or be willing to work towards attaining desirable

    Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of subject area essential

    Recent and relevant industry experience in sector essential

    Experience of working within the post 16/HE sector supporting learners essential

    Recent relevant teaching experience with good or outstanding observation grades

    Experience in post 16 education / training including curriculum design, delivery, assessment and evaluation
