The Operations Support function provides services to our operational assets, including onshore gas plants, offshore gas platforms, offshore FPSOs and other functions and groups such as Projects. While we provide services, organisationally we are a part of Operations which is the production business unit.
About the role
Reporting to the Inventory Manager, the Materials Lead – Global Solutions is responsible for leading and coordinating the delivery of materials management execution activities in support of production, maintenance, shutdown and project operations. The role ensures materials are planned, controlled, moved and issued accurately and on time by delivery teams operating within approved global standards, processes and decision boundaries.
The role provides operational leadership and coordination across materials planning, demand fulfilment, warehousing interfaces and logistics execution, ensuring disciplined adherence to approved workflows, accurate SAP transactions, and consistent service performance. Acting as the primary coordination point for materials execution, the role identifies, triages and escalates risks, exceptions and systemic issues to Global Excellence or subject matter experts as required

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate Global Solutions materials delivery teams to meet agreed service levels, KPIs and operational priorities.
- Apply strong working knowledge of materials management, inventory control, SAP MM and logistics workflows.
- Provide day‑to‑day direction, coaching and performance oversight to delivery resources.
- Foster a continuous improvement culture focused on execution quality, accuracy and timeliness.
- Act as a visible operational leader for materials execution within Global Solutions.
- Deliver materials management execution in line with approved standards, processes and service level agreements.
- Coordinate materials demand fulfilment to support production, maintenance, shutdown and project activities.
- Deliver materials management activities in compliance with statutory, regulatory and HSEQ requirements.
- Embed safety leadership through role modelling and adherence to approved materials handling, storage and transportation processes.
- Identify and escalate HSEQ risks or deviations outside approved controls.
- Monitor execution performance, accuracy and timeliness across Global Solutions delivery teams.
- Identify, triage and escalate materials execution risks, exceptions and non‑conformances beyond defined authority levels.
- Ensure compliance with Joint Venture, regulatory and internal control requirements through disciplined execution.
- Provide timely, accurate materials and inventory reporting and operational insights to stakeholders.
- Coordinate end‑to‑end materials execution activities in line with approved global processes, standards and workflows.
- Plan, prioritise and sequence materials work to support production operations, maintenance activities, shutdowns and campaigns.
- Ensure accurate and timely SAP ERP (MM) transactions are executed in accordance with approved procedures.
- Monitor materials and inventory data quality, completeness and timeliness, escalating systemic issues as required.
- Support stock verification, cycle counts and stocktakes in accordance with approved schedules and controls.
- Ensure effective collaboration and handover between Global Solutions delivery teams, warehouses, logistics providers and asset stakeholders.
- Degree qualification in Commerce or related business fields is desired by not essential.
- Proven experience in inventory and materials management within operational or asset‑intensive environments.
- Experience coordinating or leading delivery teams, including offshore or third‑party resources.
- Strong working knowledge of SAP ERP (MM) and inventory execution processes.
- Understanding of drilling, completions or well services operations (desirable).
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving and execution monitoring skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities within defined delivery guardrails.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics or related discipline (desirable).
