Function Description
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join our offshore team onboard an FPSO vessel operating in the Gulf of Mexico. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment that are essential to the safe and reliable operation of the facility.
Working closely with the Electrical Supervisor and multidisciplinary offshore teams, you will support power generation and distribution systems while ensuring full compliance with safety procedures, maintenance standards, and operational requirements.
Please note: This position is open exclusively to Mexican personnel, and applications from professionals based in or near Tamaulipas are particularly welcome due to operational and logistical requirements.

Function Description
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join our offshore team onboard an FPSO vessel operating in the Gulf of Mexico. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment that are essential to the safe and reliable operation of the facility.

Main Tasks:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, equipment, motors, switchboards, generators, UPS systems, wiring, and portable tools.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults using approved testing and diagnostic methods.
- Monitor equipment performance and condition, ensuring accurate reporting and maintenance records.
- Support the safe operation of electrical power generation and distribution systems.
- Ensure compliance with Permit to Work (PTW), isolation procedures, and safety requirements.
- Plan and utilize materials, spare parts, and resources efficiently.
- Participate in emergency response activities, drills, and exercises.
- Support environmental compliance by monitoring pollution control measures and reporting any abnormal discharges.
- Maintain accurate documentation within maintenance management systems (MMS).
Requirements
Education & Certifications
- ONC/HNC, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Maintenance Engineering.
- COMP Ex certification preferred.
- HV/LV Protection and HV/LV Switching training are considered an advantage.
- Offshore medical fitness certificate (ENG1 or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Electrical Maintenance Engineering.
- At least 2 years of offshore, oil & gas, petrochemical, or similar industrial experience preferred.
- Experience working with power generation and electrical distribution systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities.
- Solid understanding of PTW systems, electrical isolation standards, risk assessments, and power management systems.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Safety-focused mindset and commitment to operational excellence.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance/diagnostic software.
