Primary Responsibilities:
• Travel to customer sites (onshore and offshore) to inspect, install, commission, test, calibrate, upgrade, refurbish, and repair ARM/NOV equipment and products.
• Respond to emergency "Rig Down" situations as a priority to restore equipment to operational status safely and efficiently.
• Service, overhaul, inspect, and identify faults on NOV rig equipment.
• Perform fault finding on mechanical, electrical, PLC-controlled systems, AC/DC power systems, and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
• Execute field upgrades of electrical hardware and software using current control protocols and approved revisions.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics; redline and update documentation as required.
• Investigate reported equipment/product problems and NCRs; participate in root cause investigations and initiate corrective actions.
• Prepare and submit accurate service documentation including daily reports, survey reports, parts lists, redline drawings, and final service reports in a timely manner.
• Provide operational analysis and field surveys, producing reports with recommendations to improve equipment performance, efficiency, and reliability.
• Escalate key faults or product failures to relevant departments and support resolution through to closure.
• Support Installation & Commissioning (I&C) projects as required.
• Train customers on safe operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of NOV equipment in accordance with manuals, Product Information Bulletins (PIBs), drawing revisions, and software updates.
• Maintain effective communication with customers, providing regular status updates and technical feedback.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, and ARM/NOV global teams.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, HSE, and management teams to resolve equipment issues and improve product performance.
• Promote continuous improvement of systems, processes, and operational efficiency.
• Ensure full compliance with ARM/NOV Quality Assurance (QA) and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies and procedures.
• Promote incident prevention and support the ongoing development of HSE standards and internal policies.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant HSE legislation and industry requirements.
• Perform additional duties and travel on an ad-hoc basis as required by business needs.
• Proven working knowledge of installation, commissioning, overhaul, fault finding, and repair of heavy machinery or automated systems.
• Experience working with PLC and computer-controlled systems, including the ability to perform minor software modifications.
• Strong understanding of AC & DC power systems, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Experience within FMCG, heavy industry, oil & gas, or similar automated industrial environments.
• Previous experience in a similar field service role, either offshore or within an automation-based industry.
• Experience working in high-pressure operational environments requiring rapid fault diagnosis and resolution.
Key Competencies & Skills:
• Strong technical and functional knowledge of NOV drilling equipment (RFE, NOI, PCE) and related industry systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
• PLC interrogation and minor software modification capability.
