About the Role
A leading global engineering organisation is recruiting an experienced Cab Build Engineer to support the assembly and testing of high-quality electrical control cabinets for complex industrial and power generation applications.

Key Responsibilities
As a Cab Build Engineer, you will be responsible for the assembly, wiring, and testing of electrical control cabinets to ensure they meet strict engineering and quality standards. Your responsibilities will include:

- Building and assembling electrical control cabinets from engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Installing electrical components including PLCs, switchgear, relays, terminal blocks, power supplies and associated control equipment
- Routing, terminating and crimping cables in accordance with detailed electrical schematics
- Reading and interpreting complex electrical wiring diagrams, layouts and technical drawings
- Conducting continuity testing, point-to-point checks and functional testing of completed control panels
- Verifying I/O schedules and supporting fault-finding activities to ensure cabinets are fully operational prior to deployment
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship while ensuring compliance with quality procedures and engineering standards
- Working closely with engineering and production teams to resolve technical issues during the build process
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with industry regulations and quality requirements

About You
To be successful in this position, you will have experience building and wiring industrial control panels within a manufacturing, automation, power generation or process engineering environment.

You will ideally possess:

- HNC in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or a completed Level 3 Electrical Apprenticeship
- A minimum of two years' experience as an Electrical Fitter, Panel Wireman, Cab Build Engineer or Control Systems Technician
- Strong experience reading and interpreting complex electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Experience assembling and wiring industrial control panels and electrical cabinets
- Familiarity with modern PLC-based control systems and associated hardware
- Excellent fault-finding and testing skills
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work
- The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative engineering team
