PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interface with relevant departments to obtain a thorough understanding of NOV products and how they are safely operated, tested, calibrated and problems are resolved timely.
  • Travel to customer sites to inspect, install, commission, test, calibrate, repair and train customers on the safe and proper operation of NOV products.
  • Install hardware (mechanical/electrical) field upgrades and train customers on how to properly operate the system.
  • Install, commission, troubleshoot, and repair drilling equipment such as:
    • Mechanical Systems (including gearboxes, fittings, bearings, etc.)
    • Hydraulic/Pneumatic Systems (cylinders, accumulators, HPUs, etc.)
    • Electrical Systems (including various types of AC/DC motors, verify wiring per OEM schematics and procedures, checking voltages, etc.)
    • Optional: Analog and digital PLC based systems
    • Optional: Proprietary integrated control systems (Cyberbase, Amphion)
    • Optional: Variable Frequency Drives
  • Provide training to other NOV personnel on aforementioned systems and equipment as needed.
  • Collaborate frequently with internal and external customers.
  • Communicate field failures and feedback reports to the appropriate departments.
  • Complete and submit field service documentation and daily reporting in a timely manner.
  • Follows all PPE requirements guidelines and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Completion of technical training school or an equivalent background in a similar environment.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen & background check.
  • Valid passport or the ability to obtain one.
  • This is a highly visible, customer-facing position and requires the ability to travel extensively, both international and domestic.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required.
  • Overtime may be required during weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
  • 2-5 years' experience, or equivalent knowledge.
  • Must be able to travel on a weekly basis and work overtime as required.
  • Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Word, Excel and other necessary applications.
  • Comply with all QMS documentation pertaining to work related assigned responsibilities.
  • Ability to adapt and be cross-trained to learn all job duties.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with customer and contractor personnel.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Must be able to wear a respirator and fresh air mask as needed.
  • Must be able to climb ladders.
  • Standing, Walking, Bending/Stooping, Push/Pull, and Repetitive Movement up to 12 hours daily.
  • Lifting weights up to 50 lbs. Regularly.
