MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform technical tasks assigned by Lead/Senior engineer on onshore or offshore feasibility, conceptual, basic engineering, FEED, detailed design and EPC/ EPCM projects.
  • Ensure the technical quality and accuracy of the work produced and the assigned tasks are completed on time.
  • Interface with other departments, clients, vendors, subcontractors and third parties as per Lead Engineers instructions.
  • Participate in inter-disciplines, project, client and vendor meetings when requested by the Lead Engineer.
  • Assist the Lead Piping Engineer in the verification of technical documents relevant to the responsible units.
  • Assist the Lead Piping Engineer to prepare engineering information to other departments.
  • Assist the Lead Piping Engineer to answer relevant site technical queries.
  • Primary involvement as of Piping Design Engineer function in a typical project includes:
  • Perform piping and equipment layout design relevant to the assigned unit or area.
  • Prepare piping general arrangements and piping isometrics relevant to the assigned unit or area.
  • Verify piping isometrics in the reference P&IDs.
  • Perform data consistency check/ clash check for 3-D models.
  • Participate in 3-D models review.
  • Perform pipe support design for the relevant unit or area in coordination to Pipe Stress Engineer.
  • Prepare piping and bulk material take offs and bill of material.
  • Assist Lead Piping Engineer to prepare piping and layout design specifications and construction standards.
  • Primary involvement as of Pipe Stress Engineer function in a typical project includes:
  • Prepare specification for Stress Analysis.
  • Prepare piping critical line list.
  • Prepare pipe support specification/ standards.
  • Assist Piping Design Engineer/ Piping Designer for the selection of pipe supports.
  • Prepare stress calculation notes.
  • Liaises with Mechanical information for all matters concerning loads on equipment.
  • Prepares specifications, data-sheets, MRs TBTs and review vendor drawings for all tagged support items (spring support, rigid struts, etc).
  • Review support type and location indicated on the IFC isometric in accordance with approved stress isometrics.
  • Primary involvement as of Piping Material Engineer function in a typical project includes:
  • Assist Lead Piping Engineer to analyze the Project Procurement/ Construction requirements.
  • Liaises with Lead Piping Engineer for the selection applicable standards, codes and specifications and incorporate them in job specifications.
  • Assist Lead Piping Engineer to prepare summary of piping classes.
  • Establish piping material specifications (piping classes) and piping standard assemblies.
  • Provides input data for piping components to 3D Administrator
  • Propose any deviations to the project (technical, cost and delivery).
  • Prepare valve data sheets and piping specialty item data sheets.
  • Prepare Material Requirement (MR)
  • Prepare Job Specifications for Supply (JSS) based on project requirements.
  • Prepare Technical Bid Tabulation (TBT)
  • Assist Lead Piping Engineer to review vendor drawings.
  • Provides mechanical data for Line list and supervised all MTO activities. This includes piping insulating / painting and pressure / NDE testing requirements.
  • Prepare job specifications for piping fabrication, inspection and testing (where Client specifications are not available).


QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor Degree or higher in the following:
  • Piping Design and Pipe Stress Engineer function: Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Piping Material Engineer: Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Metallurgy/ Material Engineering.
  • Minimum Level I Professional Engineering License from the Engineering Council of Thailand (if any).
  • Zero to ten (0 to 10) years experience in piping engineering design in the Oil & Gas, Refineries, Petrochemical, Chemical and related industries.
  • Conversant with International Codes and Standards and Engineering Practices used in the industry ANSI/ ASME codes.
  • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD design procedures.
  • Offshore platform design experience is an advantage.
  • Specific requirements for the relevant functions:
  • Piping Design Function: 3D modeling design software experience (PDMS, PDS & AutoPLANT) is an advantage.
  • Pipe Stress Function: Competent user of CAESAR II software is an advantage.
  • Piping Material Function: Competent user of Material management software and Material/ corrosion study experience is an advantage.
