Description
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Working alone and/or with other field technicians, the candidate will serve as a service person for the Company's Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) systems at client sites, particularly at the marine ports in Galveston, TX, and other locations. This position requires a well-rounded individual willing to be trained to perform all duties in accordance with prescribed safety, regulatory, and standard operating policies, and procedures. The candidate should possess good verbal and written communication skills including good interpersonal skills with internal departments and management and possess mechanical aptitude.
SUPERVISOR: Field Operations Supervisor | DEPARTMENT: Operations-Field Services
LOCATION: Galveston, TX primarily, but must be willing to travel and work at other U.S. client sites and/or marine ports.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Stabilis Solutions retains the right to modify or change the duties or essential functions of the job at any time.
• Maintains and services cryogenic pumping systems, mechanical piping, valves, and pressure relief systems.
• Performs duties related to the maintenance and operation of Mobile LNG equipment, and delivery truck transfers to marine vessels.
• Ability to identify components on a piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) and locate the items in the field.
• Ability to read, understand and comprehend service and owner manuals, written standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other company documentation.
• Ability to take direction from off-site engineers, technical support staff or supervisor to successfully troubleshoot problems.
• Follows system commissioning activities and conducts periodic monitoring and inspection of systems.
• Monitors and operates LNG systems in an outdoor environment, sometimes in adverse weather.
• May assemble and disassemble critical rotating and reciprocating machinery according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine troubleshooting path.
• Ensures all company, customer safety, environmental and U.S. Coast Guard procedures are followed.
• Completes systems operations training, site specific and certification requirements as assigned.
• Maintains safe and compliant work practices, follow Log Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures on equipment and assures equipment is operable and safe to work on.
• Works independently with remote supervision.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or GED. Technical, electrical, or mechanical certification a plus.
• One year's experience in petroleum or chemical industry; LNG and/or cryogenic experience a plus.
• Must have good basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic theory and application and be able to learn and use manuals and other resources to apply that knowledge in the requirements of the job.
• Must be able to identify components on a piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) and locate them in the field.
• Experience with cryogenic refrigeration, gas processing, and/or steam preferred.
• The ability to work independently in demanding industrial environments is critical.
• High level of comfort in safely working on live equipment.
• Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office software, and the ability to make simple mathematical computations.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to be a self-starter and effectively use time management skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other Stabilis employees, and customers.
• Must be able to safely operate company equipment and vehicles.
• Ability to read, understand and comprehend service manuals, owner's manuals, written procedures, and other company documentation.
• Ability to use and maintain personal protective equipment (i.e., safety toe boots, hard hat, flame retardant clothing, ear/eye protection, etc.).
• Ability to pass drug/alcohol screening and occupational medical exam.
• Must possess a valid driver's license, with a safe driving record.
• Must be able to lift 75 pounds.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
• Activities involve standing, sitting, driving, stooping, kneeling, climbing, lifting, and carrying, transferring objects, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Field Environment: The climate and/or temperature may be uncomfortable at times, as the majority of the work is performed outside.
• Workdays are extended hour shifts. Schedules may vary, but typical shifts are 10-12+ hour days while on assignment. Assignments can vary depending on the job site, the type of project, and customer needs.
• Field office equipment will be used including copy machines, cell phones , PC/Laptop/Tablets, and radios. Skills and activities require fine motor dexterity, good vision, good hearing, and clear speaking.
• Non-smoking and drug free workplace.
• Ability to travel to other sites as needed. The company does reimburse for travel if as per the company's written travel policy - use of company vehicle may also be provided at sites.

WORK SCHEDULE:
The Bunkering Technician position is a full-time position with extended work hours (10-12+ hour days) . Shift work is typically 5 days a week, with potential for weekend work. Assignments can vary depending on the job site, the type of project, and customer needs. The Company provides travel expenses and per diem reimbursement for those who are working away from their base work location and/or for assignments greater than 60 miles from their assigned work location .
SALARY:
Bunkering Field Technician rates begin at $25.00, but once the employee has completed company training and certification has been obtained (usually within six months), the hourly rate will increase to $30.00.
