Your role and responsibilities
In this role you will be responsible for executing medium to high complex service jobs & projects with ABB standard processes, quality standards and safety guidelines. Deliver excellent customer service to satisfy customers, proactive communication with both customer and ABB sales teams to ensure customer needs are understood and business opportunities utilized for penetration and expansion. The work model for this role (onsite) This role is contributing to Process Automation Business Area based in Doha; Qatar You will mainly be accountable for: Applying safety rules and safe practices as well as environmental responsibilities. Reporting unsafe practices and incidents. Leading HSE activities at site Contributing to customer satisfaction by planning and executing Service work according to customer order and expectation. Clearing understanding of sense of urgency and care in the direct area of responsibility. Ensuring customer retention by delivering superior customer experiences and effectively communicating service work timeline and expectations. Working with customer to identify opportunities in the installed base to improve system performance and operational performance improvements. While on-site, working with the customer to identify opportunities for improving the customers operations and eliminating pain points. Planning and preparing site work for larger project team and manages related subcontractors at site. Performing complex field service tasks, identifies technical problems, and makes analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products for which they are certified to perform. Coaching technicians and engineers and supervises complex site activities. Supporting the certification process of associate field service engineers and field service engineers. Preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensures that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and at the appropriate quality for service activities. Preparing all documents and customer reports to be signed by the customer representative. Reporting work done in a timely manner and follows up when needed. Acting as a technical consultant in own specific area of expertise. Proactively planning and executes work on a first-time right approach with customers, and ensures the job is done on time and on quality. Identifying improvement needs and potential solutions for them in the way of working and the products in question and drives improvement actions in own area of responsibility.

Qualifications for the role
- Graduate Engineer in Electrical / Equivalent Engineering
- Must have minimum 8 years of experience of which at least 5 years as customer support / project / service engineer of System 800xA based safety systems preferably in Oil & Gas / Power & Water industry.
- Good hands-on experience in system 800xA based integrated control and safety system (both hardware and software) with AC800MHI library-based application development - project & commissioning
- Knowledge of FSMS (functional safety management system) and valid Functional Safety certifications (TUV FS engineer, ABB certifications etc.)
- Knowledge of Functional safety technical standards IEC61511, IEC61508 and corresponding system engineering practice experience.
- Hands on Experience in Industrial networking, network switch configuration
- Hands on experience in Cyber security for 800xA based systems
- Be an analytical thinker, self-starter, resilient and highly adaptable- in line with ABB's latest advance service & digital portfolio
- Hands on Experience in industrial communication protocols like Modbus- RTU & TCP, OPC, etc.
