The C&I (packages) engineer will form part of the deployed engineering team based in the EPC contractor offices covering PCCI and HPC scopes, and will report on a day-to-day basis to the PCC Lead C&I Engineer based in Paris.
The project execution approach is to maximise off-site fabrication. Focus will be on the delivery of the C&I packaged, and support static/rotating packages where required for HPC and PCCI contracts, including large pre-assembled units. These are likely to be engineered and fabricated by companies across the UK and internationally. Package complexity will range from simple off-the-shelf equipment to large pre-assembled units weighing thousands of tonnes. Travel will be required at times during EPC to the various package manufacturers and, later in EPC, to site.

Significant experience in relevant discipline engineering position covering C&I activities - field instruments, control systems, risk assessments
Deep discipline expertise with good track record of multi discipline integration
Experience of managing contractor performance and delivery. Experience of managing concessions, deviations or contractor non- conformance.
Pragmatic decision maker, willing to challenge and ensure engineering value is delivered
Desirable criteria and qualifications:
Experience of FEED/EPC environment on major Projects.
Knowledge of Power Plant Design and Operation
Good understanding of UK regulatory requirements including pressure systems safety regulations, British standards and CDM regulations
Knowledge and experience of PED/ PE(S)R for static equipment
Understanding of Major Projects Common Process (MPCP)

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute detailed verification plans for C&I scopes within all vendor packages
- Verify Contractor and supplier compliance against PCCI and HPC contracts and project selected codes and standards
- Review and verification of key Contractor and supplier engineering deliverables, including compliance with contractual scopes of work, project standards and applied ETPs.
- Manage ETP and project deviations as they arise.
- Performance manage and verify the C&I scope during preparation of vendor package procurement, such as- specifications, quality assurance, digital security impact assessment and performance management of the contractor who will have overall accountability for procurement for the Project.
- Performance management and verification of contractor and C&I package suppliers following purchase order placement
- Review and verification of supplier compliance with project specifications, and oversee EPC management of deviations and concessions.
- Represent the C&I discipline in package model reviews HAZOPs, LOPAs, Alarm Rationalization workshops, etc.
- Input into overall plant HAZOPs and PHSSERs as required
- Provide C&I support to the rotating equipment packages where required
- Support package integration into the ICSS
- Identify and flag risks associated with C&I work scopes, and proactively manage these risks.
- Manage interfaces between different project scopes. Verify EPC contractor management of internal interfaces.
- Support the Lead C&I engineer as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential Education:
- Degree in Electrical/ Electronics Engineering or related Engineering discipline or equivalent experience
- Chartership / PE status required
