The Telecoms engineer will use their experience, knowledge, and leadership to define and implement the Telecoms scope for the Project
The Telecoms engineer will work in the engineering team for the Execute stage of the projects.
Reporting to the C&I Lead Engineer, the position will provide technical direction and oversight to E&P Contractors to ensure safe, pragmatic, and cost-effective application of projects, the client & regulatory standards. Day to day instructions will come from the Engineering Manager based in the Paris office.
Operation Critical Telecoms (OCT) for the projects refers to such sub-systems as CCTV, radios, access control, Security solutions, telephony, automation networks, structured cabling, fibre infrastructure etc.
Work scope:
The Telecoms engineer provides the project with technical support and direction. The individual will have skills to resolve complex technical issues associated with Telecoms sub-systems and have considerable experience in design and maintenance as well as application of industry standards and practices.
The work includes:
• Definition of project telecoms scope across sites.
• Provide technical support to Engineering Contractor and Telecoms System Integrator to ensure cost-effective and fit-for-purpose systems are specified, designed, and implemented.
• Support the technical review requirements as outlined in the contract.
• Work closely with Digital to define and manage the interfaces between Digital and Engineering, including any scope delivered by Engineering on behalf of Digital.
• Performance manage the Main Telecoms Contractor and Engineering Contractor delivery.
• Provide technical direction to Engineering Contractor on tie-in, integration, expansion, and adequacy assessment of associated regional project telecom systems.
• Responsibility for Digital security on OCT networks and sub-systems
• Ensure compliance with relevant local policies, company technical practices and national regulations and codes.
• Manage technical interfaces.
• Determine operational license and certificate requirements for operated communication solutions.
• Specify requirements for OCT service lines and ensure service provider participation during design and execution of projects.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Electronics or Telecommunication Engineering
- Proven track record of working on FEED, EPC and PMC projects in the Oil & Gas sector
- Knowledge of international codes and specs for safety critical systems would be beneficial
- Experience designing critical telecommunications systems.
- Experience in defining and reviewing proposal requirements.
- Advanced knowledge of industry and government standards.
- Experience with advanced telecommunications design and maintenance.
- Experience working in a multidiscipline, multistakeholder environment.
