Primoris Renewable Energy is seeking a full-time Traveling Solar Technician II. This position requires overnight travel on a frequent basis depending on company needs. The Traveling Solar Technician must have the ability to work safely at high quality with electrical & mechanical components, issues and concerns.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Perform a full range of diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and oversight of issues that may arise at a solar farm across the US
- Ability to diagnose a full range of solar service issues
- Provide outstanding customer experience. The Solar Technician will be customer facing and must maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times
- Ability to travel using own vehicle or in company owned vehicle
- Participate in staff meetings and assist with broader company initiatives
- Provide daily reports
- Effectively use hand and power tools
- Effectively use a laptop and a variety of programs/applications
- Learn and understand basic low voltage electrical systems
- Operate machinery/equipment such as skid steers, mini-excavators, backhoes, compressors, and generators
- Troubleshoot technical issues
- Clean, maintain, and inventory company owned tools/equipment
- Act professionally in remote areas, on active construction sites, or in the office
- Think creatively and encourage open-mindedness
- Continually drive self-improvement and motivate excellence in coworkers
- Work within and ensure strict adherence to all safety and environmental procedures
- Maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 2+ years working in the renewable energy industry or relevant experience from another industry
- Great safety track record
- Knowledge of all major solar and energy storage products
- Training on top tier inverters a plus
- Must be highly organized and punctual
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have a valid driver's license and pass background check and physical
- Must have the ability to work though issues and troubleshoot safely
- Accommodate frequent travel
- Work as a member of a small team, as well as independently in the field
- Must be able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to: standing, stooping, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time. Have full range of mobility in upper and lower body
- Lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks
- Lift 50 pounds of weight frequently throughout assigned workday
- Sustain prolonged exposure to extreme weather and environmental conditions
