You may have a role in overseeing and developing current junior designers and engineers and integrating with the wider disciplines within the engineering group.

The role could develop into a lead role in our team by demonstrating that you have strong engineering capabilities and can contribute to multi-disciplinary design delivery autonomously, with minimal oversight.

Key skill sets shall include:
  • Develop design solutions to agreed time, cost and quality, aligned to milestones.
  • Understand the contractual and performance requirements for various systems and support the definition and associated acceptance criteria and events through design, build, integration, installation and commissioning activities.
  • Produce or check documentation required to support the design review process, including diagrams; technical specifications; calculations; design evidence and justifications.
  • Ensure compliance against contractual requirements and Quality Assurance processes.
  • Review relevant supplier documentation.
  • Support design reviews and presentations to customers.

The Individual:

The successful candidate should ideally be able to demonstrate some experience in full lifecycle engineering, technical report writing, Design Justification reports, presenting designs to colleagues & clients, testing, and ideally a good understanding in one of the following areas:
  • Instrumentation and control system theory including PID control.
  • Electrical circuits design, EMC precautions and power supply characteristics.
  • Safety Integrity Levels and BS EN 61508 or 61511.
  • Machinery Safety and UKCA Marking.
  • PLC programming.
  • Fieldbus technology (Profibus/Profinet).
  • Electrical power distribution.
  • Building services (lighting, fire safety systems and small power).

How will you contribute to the team?
  • You will primarily be focused on project delivery, working collaboratively across our business.
  • An innovator - You will encourage people to experiment, produce new ideas and challenge others to think differently.
