This role ensures that all mechanical systems are protected and maintained in optimal condition from the fabrication stage to installation and commissioning.
The Preservation Mechanical Engineer works closely with project, construction, and maintenance teams to develop and implement preservation plans and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.

The Preservation Mechanical Engineer works closely with project, construction, and maintenance teams to develop and implement preservation plans and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement preservation plans for mechanical equipment, including static and rotating machinery, during various project phases.
- Monitor and manage the condition of mechanical equipment, ensuring that all preservation measures (e.g., coatings, covers, dry packs) are properly applied and maintained.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of equipment preservation, documenting and addressing any non-compliance or deterioration issues.
- Collaborate with procurement, construction, and installation teams to ensure that preservation requirements are communicated and adhered to during transportation, storage, and installation.
- Review and verify preservation records, ensuring that all preservation activities are documented and meet the specified quality and safety standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance on preservation techniques and best practices to contractors and subcontractors.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure that any temporary preservation measures are removed during commissioning without affecting equipment performance.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and project specifications related to the preservation of mechanical equipment.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Certifications / Specialization / IT Skills:
- Familiarity with preservation standards and practices in the mechanical engineering field.
- Proficient in project management tools and MS Office applications.
Years of Experience:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on equipment preservation in large-scale projects.
Technical Knowledge:
- Mechanical Systems Preservation: In-depth knowledge of preservation techniques for mechanical equipment, including both static and rotating machinery.
- Inspection and Monitoring: Experience in conducting preservation inspections, audits, and reporting, with an ability to identify potential issues and recommend corrective actions.
