About The Role:
1. Instrumentation Design and Implementation:
- Specification of Data Sheets for complex instrumentation: Analyzers, Conditioning and sampling systems. Selection of sensors, analysers, installation and conditioning materials.
May also be responsible for throttling valves (regulation), safety valves, etc
- Develop and maintain instrumentation diagrams, including P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
- Purchase requisition, follow-up, validation of documentation and installation of subcontractors or suppliers of instruments and analyzers, assistance to FAT tests of equipment and systems.
- Performance of preparatory documentation, pricing and definition of scope of work for Supply Subcontracts and installation of analyzer shelters according to regulations.
- Preparation of Design and Supply Specifications for the above equipment for projects.
2. Process Monitoring and Control:
- Knowledge about process control loops related to analytical measurement variables.
-Knowledge about control systems, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), DCS (Distributed Control Systems), and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.
3. Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all instrumentation and control systems comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Implement safety interlocks and alarm systems to prevent unsafe operating conditions.
- Participate in safety audits and risk assessments.
4. Project Management:
- Support instrumentation and control project team (even leading engineering group) from concept to completion.
- Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Leadership skills, able to accept limitations in dedication and budget depending on the project.
5. Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction.
- Implement advanced control strategies and automation solutions to enhance process efficiency.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in process instrumentation and control.
About You:
- Education: Bachelors degree in industrial electronics and automation engineering, Chemical engineering or higher degree in regulation and control systems.
Postgraduate or Master's degree in Analytical Instrumentation is valued.
- Experience: 5 years of experience in process instrumentation and control engineering, preferably in an industrial environment.
- Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of analytical instrumentation capabilities and features; also, in calibration and maintenance procedures.
- Advanced user of MS Office (Excel, Word, Access,...); Adobe Acrobat, Knowledge of AutoCAD or µStation.
Knowledge of Smart Plant Instrumentation (Intools) or AVEVA Engineering is valuable_
- Familiarity with process simulation and modelling software.
- Some experience with SCADA systems and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) design.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and experience with data analysis tools.
- Communication Skills: Ability to work in a team; excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications on analytical instrumentation are a plus.
