The Opportunity with McKinstry:
We are currently seeking aBuilding Energy Engineerto join McKinstry as a member of our growing Technical Services team in Phoenix, AZ. McKinstry supports clients and their facilities throughout the life of a building; the Technical Services team specifically focuses on the optimization and energy efficiency of existing buildings with a uniquely consultative approach. We work directly with owners to help them make effective decisions that improve the efficiency, comfort for occupants, and lifespan of their buildings.
In this role, you will be a front-line energy engineer on high impact energy and facility optimization consulting projects owning delivery of outcome-oriented solutions. You will leverage your experience in problem solving, systems analysis, data analysis and communication to drive sustainability and efficiency for schools, university campuses, hospitals, data centers and other facilities.
Communication and collaboration are a large part of this role as well, frequently requiring that you partner with other McKinstry teams to deliver effective results. You will be responsible for making technical recommendations, building actionable reports and presenting them to clients, and assisting the client with recommendation implementation.

The pay range for this position is $63,540 - $98,460 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.

What You Need to Succeed:
- Education: BA/BS degree in Engineering, Architecture, Facilities Management, Environmental Science, or equivalent field of study or equivalent work experience required. A master's degree or higher is a bonus.
- Three plus (3 ) years of experience in energy efficiency with a minimum of 3 yearsof relevant building energy analysis experience. CEM, PE, or BEAP preferred.
- 1-3 years' experience with client-focused building energy consulting
- Working knowledge of mechanical and controls systems such as Siemens, JCI, ATS, and others.
- Exceptional time management skills to organize and prioritize tasks while juggling multiple deliverables/timelines.
- Creative, problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering outstanding customer service and a consultative approach.
